May 14, 2018 -Directors Notes-
THE FIRST BAND PARENT MEETING FOR THE 2018-19 PRIDE SEASON IS MONDAY NIGHT!!! This is a mandatory meeting. It will kick off at 7 p.m. Monday in the high school band room, but you'll want to be there early to check out the Pride Store and our Volunteer Fair, which will be set up in the lobby of the Field House starting at 6 p.m.
We recommend you park behind the school and enter through the Field House entrance so you can check everything out.
The Pride Store will be selling all the great Pride gear you could want as well as taking pre-orders on everything from show shirts to decals to our new sports shorts and more! You can get a jump on things by printing out and filling out your Pride Store PRE-ORDER FORMS HERE
The Volunteer Fair will be your opportunity to sign up to help out the Pride! We have a TON of volunteer needs, and if you have a talent, we can probably find a way to use it. Come by and talk to your fellow Pride parents who are heading up each volunteer area, ask questions and get signed up to help!
The Pride Store and Volunteer Fair will also be open after the meeting.
High School Band concert on Tuesday, May 22 Don’t miss the final HS Band Concert of the year on Tuesday (5/22). This will be a great concert to celebrate an end to a great school year. Also, the HS Wind Ensemble will present a concert featuring Multi-media Concert Experience of “A Night at the Movies.†Be sure to be at this concert for some special surprises! Symphonic Band 1 and Wind Ensemble will check in their concert attire at the PAC after the concert has ended.
2018 Pride This is going to be an amazing Marching Band; ALL sections are looking VERY strong for this season! An Informative and Required Parent Meeting will begin at 7:00pm THIS WEEK on MONDAY, May 14th in the High School Band Room. All parents plan to attend this meeting.

Special Olympics Send Off Rally On Wednesday (5/16), the HS Band Students will perform a brief Pep Rally as a Send Off for our BAHS students headed to the Oklahoma Special Olympics. This will be just outside the indoor athletic facility and begin at 7:00am and will be completed by 7:20am (NOTE: this time has been moved earlier to accommodate an early departure for our BA Special Olympians)
Jazz Ensemble Auditions Auditions will be at BAHS on Monday, May 21 3:30-5:00.
HS Wind Band Auditions Auditions for next school year’s high school wind bands (and playing grade for this semester) will begin this week during class time. Music was distributed to the HS and FA students last week.
BAHS Graduation Congratulations to our 2018 Graduates as you complete your High School careers! This is an exciting time to reflect on the great memories and look forward to their exciting futures! All Sophomore & Juniors from the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band 1 are required to perform at the 2018 BAHS Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday, May 15 at the Downtown Tulsa BOK Center. After school rehearsals for these students are May 9, 10 & 14 from 3:15-5:00pm. On Graduation day, all Graduation band members will bus to and from the BOK Center. The Graduation Band will depart BAHS on school transportation at 3:45pm (wear dress up clothes) and should return to BAHS from the graduation ceremony at approximately 8:00pm
Drums of Summer - DCI Tour of Champions Show in Broken Arrow The 2018 DCI Show hosted in Broken Arrow will be on Tuesday, July 17 at BA's Memorial Stadium. This year’s event features many of DCI’s top groups in the WORLD: Blue Devils, Blue Knights, Bluecoats, Boston Crusaders The Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment and Santa Clara Vanguard. WOW!! What an amazing line up. Tickets are on sale now at DCI.org. There are also many opportunities to volunteer. Contact VP of Special Events at BASpecialEvents@gmail.com for more info…. Tickets are selling fast and most of the chairback seats have already sold, get your tickets today! (All 2018 Pride members receive G.A. through the pass gate with your student ID)

Charms - All Pride accounts should be paid to zero. Credit card payments can now be made in the band office with Mrs. Good. Credit cards can be used for student accounts, Pride Store purchases, and other fees. As always, credit payments may be made through Charms and will automatically post to your students Charms ledgers. Payments can also be mailed to BA Bands, BAHS, 1901 E. Albany, Broken Arrow, OK, 74012.

PRIDE OF BROKEN ARROW NIGHT AT THE DRILLERS MAY 17! OUR OWN PRIDE ENSEMBLE WILL PLAY THE NATIONAL ANTHEM! YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS IT! The Drillers are supporting the Pride with a night of baseball. This is a fundraiser and we will receive a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales (Use link below for purchasing tickets so we get credit for the sale) The more people we have at the game, the bigger our share of the ticket sales!The Pride will have an ensemble playing the National Anthem! A fun night for families, Pride sections, friends, celebrate graduation, and more!

LEGENDS CAR WASH FUNDRAISER - CODE 1219 IS GOOD YEAR ROUND! Need a car wash? Each time the code 1219 is entered, the BA Bands program gets 20% of the sale at Legends Car Wash at Kenosha and Aspen (2300 W. Kenosha). This link has a bar code and the code number. NOTE TO MEMBERS ABOUT THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNT FUNDRAISERS - Individual account fundraisers such as the ones below are offered year round for all Pride members (color guard and hornline), whether new or old. The profits from each individual account fundraiser goes directly to the Pride member who did the fundraiser. Go ahead and start fundraising!
DISCOUNT CARDS - They will be available the night of the May band parent meeting. To get discount cards before then, you need to contact Debbie Gowriluk at BABandFundraising@gmail.com to arrange a pickup time. This is the ONLY fundraiser we offer that you do not pay for upfront. You can check out up to 5 cards at one time. Once those cards are sold, you can check out more cards at the same time you turn in the money for the sold cards to Debbie. IMPORTANT INFO: If you checked out cards and need more, you need to turn the money in to Debbie to get more cards; if you turn the money in to Mrs. Good, there WILL be a delay in getting more cards because she will need to let me know that the money has been received and recorded before I can check out additional cards to you.
CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - The next opportunity to purchase chocolate will be at the May band parent meeting. Important to remember - if you turn in money from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets posted to Charms that way; you will have already paid the profit upfront. MIXED BAG DESIGNS - This is our newest fundraiser and it starts after the band parent meeting on Monday. This fundraiser also includes the opportunity for online sales; that means family members and friends from other cities and states can support your Pride member and get some great items in the process! The catalog for this fundraiser is BIG! Lots of items to choose from... bags, organization items, kitchen items, outdoor living items… something for everyone!
::::::: PLEASE READ ::::::: - You MUST include your contact information (email address and phone number) on ALL fundraiser order forms before turning them in (even if the form doesn't ask for that info). Also, if you are not receiving our fundraising emails already and you participate in fundraising at all, you need to be added to that email list because that is the best way to receive current news about fundraisers; please ask to be added to that email list if you are not already on it.
Earn Money For Your Band Trip Account - There are so many ways to earn money for your band trip account! Start earning money now for the 2018 marching season.
Many of these opportunities go quickly. The work sign-ups are sent via email to those on the Pride Work email list. Please ask to get on the Pride Work email list by writing to bapridework@gmail.com.

WHAT IS THE PRIDE STORE? The Pride Store is a mobile store that we set up before and after parent meetings, sometimes during Pride Camps, and at BA Bands local events! The best place to get updates on when we will have the store open is via e-news, social media, and via e-mail. (Join our Pride Store/Fundraising e-mail list by writing to us at babandfundraising@gmail.com)We sell lots of Pride of BA and band items that the kids (and parents) love and you can purchase them on the spot! We also offer pre-order forms for shirts and other items that you will want to have in the fall when band season hits full speed! We take cash and checks made payable to BA Bands!
