 Dear Parents, Guardians, Friends, and Families,
 -Directors Notes-
 
 
 
 
 I hope you are healthy and taking all precautions to keep everyone
out of harm's way.  The
unprecedented and abrupt closure of school has left everyone, teachers
included, with more questions than we have answers and the situation is fluid
and changing day by day.
 
 Lastly, you have
all heard me say that our program is more than a class. It's a family. And
families help one another. If there is anything I can do to be of service
during these difficult times, I stand ready, able, and willing.
 
 Hang in there,
everyone, and remind your child to continue practicing and working on the
Virtual Band Assignments!

 2020 Pride Color Guard - Virtual Auditions AVAILABLE NOW
 The
Broken Arrow Colorguard will be hosting video auditions
for any students currently in grades 8-11 in the Broken Arrow school
district who are interested in becoming a part of a nationally ranked
program!
 
 Students
who are interested in joining the Pride colorguard will be required to learn a
short dance piece from a video and send in a recording of themselves completing
the dance piece. There is no previous experience required so
the dance piece will be beginner level with a detailed explanation. The
deadline to send in your audition video will be May 15th.
 
 We
will be using the “BAND†app platform (found in the google or apple app store)
to distribute the audition materials as well as provide support to students who
are interested in learning. If you/your student is interested in becoming a
part of the Pride of Broken Arrow Colorguard for the 2020 season please have
them join our band app page.
 
 You
can download the “Band†app or visit the website band.us and search for the group “Broken Arrow
Colorguard 2020†ask permission to join and a staff member will approve
your request. After you request has been approved, you will have access to the
audition material and information on how to submit your video as well as plenty
of other resources to begin your colorguard journey.

 2020 Wind Band Auditions - Via Canvas COMING SOON
 In
the coming days, all current 8th - 11th grade students will be receiving info
from their band directors regarding wind band auditions for the 2020-2021
school year.  These wind band auditions are for placement into the Fall
2020 band classes.  All students that complete the audition process are
guaranteed a position in a wind band class for 2020.  The auditions will
be recorded at your home and submitted via “Canvas.† Refer to the instructions
that you will soon receive from your band directors.  As a reminder, all
Broken Arrow FA/HS students must have a Fine Arts credit for graduation to be
compliant with the new Oklahoma Graduation requirements.
 
 
 2020 Pride Horn
Line, Percussion & Drum Major Auditions - COMING SOON
 Due to the current COVID19 suspension of
classes, auditions for the 2020 Price Horn Line, Percussion and Drum Majors
will look differently than they have in the past.  The upcoming auditions
will be VIRTUAL auditions with video submissions.  Auditions WILL take
place in the coming weeks (following the wind band auditions) for each of these
sections in the 2020 Pride of Broken Arrow.  Details and instructions will
be available soon.  STAY TUNED!!
 
 
 Spring 2020 Wind Band Trips
 We know that you all have questions related to
canceled events, the remainder of this year, and plans for next year. Please
remember that the band staff and I are working on these issues and will be in
touch as our next steps become clearer.  We are still working with the
vendors from the Spring Wind Band trips to receive refunds for the at least
portions of those trips.  Once we know what the BA Bands will be able to
receive from the payments already made to vendors, we will determine what funds
can be credited to your students accounts (for underclassmen) and make
available refund to graduating seniors.  Unfortunately, this will be a
slow process until the nation’s economy reopens and our vendors businesses
resume operations.  Please be patient.
 
 
 Looking Ahead to Fall 2020
 Planning
has long been underway for the 2020 season of the Broken Arrow Bands.
 The interruption of daily classes on campus haven’t deterred our
process to continue providing “once in a lifetime†experiences through
music in the Broken Arrow Bands.  Stay tuned and involved as this distant
learning will, hopefully, allow us to return to meeting our students soon to be
conditioned and ready for a fantastic 2020 season!  … and what a GREAT
season it will be to get our Broken Arrow Bands making music together again as soon

 We
 are still offering BA Bands Discount Cards.  Cards sell for 
$12 each with $9 going to individual accounts.  Payments must 
be made upfront when cards are picked up (cash or check only)  
Discounts from smokies, Los Mariachis, Happy Plate, Forest Ridge, Wild 
Meadows, Cicis, Pride Store, and many more!
 
 Due to current circumstances, all preorders are safe from being tossed.  I do have preorders at my house EXCEPT for Street Signs. Only a limited number of patches though.  I can leave them on my porch to be picked up if you’d like.CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER
 - Please email the fundraising email if you would like to purchase 
chocolate.  Chocolate will be available for purchase at the 
Tuesday band parent meeting at 6:00pM before the meeting and again after
 the meeting ends.  Remember, it is $60 per box paid upfront, 
with half of that going into your child's account.  Cash/checks
 for payment only please. Important to remember - if you turn in money 
from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets

 PRIDE WORK - Earn Money For Your Band Trip Account -
 There
 are so many ways to earn money for your band trip account! Start 
earning money now for the 2019 Indoor Percussion and 2020 Marching 
Season!
 
 Many
 of these opportunities go quickly.  The work sign-ups are sent via 
email to those on the Pride Work email list.  Please ask to get on the

 there are still several spots available for the Chili Bowl starting
