Pride Senior Recognition
The Pride will recognize it’s Class of 2021 Seniors at halftime of THIS WEEK’S game. We have moved this halftime recognition earlier in the schedule to this game to ensure that we get our seniors recognized with the uncertainty of COVID related cancellations in the future. Seniors will be recognized from the field following their halftime performance. The Sounds of the Stadium AND Senior Reception that were originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 17 will now be held on Saturday, October 24 at BAHS. We thank you in advance, once again, for your flexibility in this unusual world of scheduling amid COVID. More info to come regarding the Senior Reception.

Uniform Performance, Concert, Canned Food Drive and Virtual Performance this Saturday
This Saturday will be an exciting to perform for our family and friends locally AND share our students talents nationwide! The Pride’s performance is scheduled (technical considerations willing) to be broadcast in a live stream with the YOUTH IN MUSIC Organization. The Pride will take part in a special EXHIBITION performance in the Youth in Music Virtual 2020 event. Schools from around the country are participating in this excellent showcase of student performances across America. The Pride is scheduled to perform online from 6:45pm - 7:00pm on Saturday in the virtual web stream (more info to come from Youth In Music regarding how to view and access the live stream).

The Pride will also perform their show Live in the BAHS Stadium for local Family and Friends on Saturday (10/10). The Stadium will open at approximately 6:00pm for family and friends to enter the stadium and select a socially distant seating location in the stadium. The Performances will begin at 6:45pm and conclude by 7:30pm. We ask all patrons attending in person to support BA Neighbors with a canned food or non-perishable food item as admission to the event (and all must wear a mask). The Live event will feature a full performance of the Pride’s field presentation of the “The Show Must Go On” and feature a live concert in the stadium following the Live stream performance with Youth in Music. STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFO REGARDING ACCESS TO THE YOUTH IN MUSIC LIVE STREAM EVENT.

Pride to Perform for an Assisted Living Facility on Monday, October 12
The Pride is schedule to perform at a local Assisted Living facility on Monday (10/12). Students will be responsible for their own transportation to the facility designated parking location. Report time on Monday is 4:30pm (in uniform) and the Outdoor Concert Performance (parking lot) will be from 5:00-6:00pm. Following the performance on 10/12, all Pride members will return to the HS to return their uniforms and have a CAKE PARTY to celebrate our 2020 Pride members! The CAKE PARTY will conclude by 7:30pm. Specific Logistic info will be shared prior to this great event to serve our Broken Arrow Community!

Bands of America Virtual Showcase / Sounds of the Stadium - October 24
The Pride will participate in the Bands of America Live Virtual Showcase on Saturday, October 24. This live event with High School and College Ensembles from across the nation will perform Virtually for a pay-per-view event provided by Bands of America. In Broken Arrow, this event will be a ticketed event for patrons as we make one of our final performances of the 2020 marching band season! Stay tuned for more info regarding ticketing details, performance times and format for the in person attendees. This will be a huge celebration for our Pride 2020 members!

Staying Vigilant: Parent & Student Help Needed: Face Coverings / Social Distancing

Keep in mind as we continue through the season and school year that we should ’not let our guard down’ with the personal precautions we all need to take to remain safe and healthy. We need all to continue to ’self monitor’ your health. Remember, if you feel ill or have potential COVID symptoms, please contact the attendance email and stay home. Continue self monitoring the COVID Survey:
  • - Do you have a fever?
  • - Do you have a sore throat?
  • - Do you have a cough?
  • - Do you have a loss of smell or taste?
  • - Do you have shortness of breath?
  • - Have you had close contact to a positive COVID patient?
  • - Record temperature - must be below 100.4
When students are “on task” in rehearsal it is much easier for students to comply and staff to monitor the social distancing and face coverings for our students. However, we are meeting challenges in the time before and after our sessions / rehearsals with students maintaining a 6 foot social distance and wearing their face coverings. We ask all students to be more emphatic (and parents to reinforce with their children) how important this is for the Pride to continue our progress into the 2020 season. This is now the NEW NORM for the CULTURE of our Pride of Broken Arrow. All students must wear their face covering prior to beginning rehearsal and only remove a face covering to drink water (eat) or at the direction of a staff member. Students in their time prior to rehearsals will definitely want to socialize with their friends (this is totally understandable and encouraged), however, it must occur with 6 foot social distancing and face coverings. Thank you for your attention with this matter…

FALL BREAK - for your planning
In this unique year for the Pride, we will not have our typical rehearsal camp over fall break. Students are free to make plans to enjoy fall break Off from the Pride this year! Pride will not rehearse from Oct 15-19 and will resume rehearsals on Tuesday, October 20.
