Charms
For those new to the Pride, Charms is a student management software used by the bands to manage student accounts, uniforms, inventory, communication, etc., in all areas of the band program. All Pride members for 2021 have been pre-registered in Charms. To log in, visit www.CharmsOffice.com, use the parent log in tab and the school code “brokenarrowband”. The initial log in password is your student’s ID number. If you have forgotten your password, please email Lisa Good at lsgood@baschools.org to have it reset. Please also update the profile information for you and your students. Students should have their own email address. See THIS informative sheet for new Charms users. 


Pride of Broken Arrow Percussion - AUDITION RESULTS
Congratulations to the NEW members of the 2021 Pride of Broken Arrow Percussion section! This is going to be an amazing group of performers!

All 2021 Pride of Broken Arrow Percussion members need to fill out THIS GOOGLE FORM regarding Summer Rehearsal Schedule by THIS FRIDAY, MAY 14TH!


Upcoming Band Concerts
These will all be ticketed concerts. We will make a notification when the PAC Box Office will begin accepting reservations.
  • Solo & Ensemble Concert - May 10 - 6:00PM BAPAC

  • Freshman Academy Band Concert- May 11- 7:00PM BAPAC

TICKETS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS WEEK’S CONCERTS IN THE PAC
We excited for our BA Bands to offer several performances in the BAPAC the Week of May 10. Each of these concerts will be a ticketed event with specific tickets required for each separate concert. Please note that due to projected seating capacity limitations, many of the concerts will have a ticket limit (4) per family. Each of the following concert events will be held at the BA PAC.

  • HS Solo & Ensemble Concert

  • Jazz Ensemble Concert (featuring E Jazz & Jazz 1)

    **HS WE families do not get tickets to this concert to all FA families the opportunity to hear their children perform.

How to obtain Tickets for the Band Concerts
TICKETS ARE REQUIRED TO ENTER THE PAC
  • Reserved tickets are REQUIRED for each person attending. Tickets are FREE while supplies last.
  • Social Distancing will be maintained in the theatre
  • Masks are REQUIRED in the building as well as in the theatre DURING the performances
  • Parents can call or come by the PAC Box Office to get their reserved tickets.
  • Box Office hours are M-F 9am-4:30pm (Closed for lunch from 12-12:30pm)

  • Tickets will NOT be available the evening of the concerts. All tickets must be reserved no later than 4:30pm on the day of the concert

2021 HS Wind Band Auditions - Via Canvas DUE MONDAY, MAY 17
Wind Band Auditions for the 2021 High School Wind Bands are to be completed via video recording submissions in the students’ Canvas “Audition Class.” Auditions are due MONDAY, May 17. All current band students that complete the audition process are guaranteed a position in a wind band class for 2021. The auditions will be recorded at your home and submitted via “Canvas.” Refer to the instructions that you will soon receive from your band directors. As a reminder, all Broken Arrow FA/HS students must have a Fine Arts credit for graduation to be compliant with the new Oklahoma Graduation requirements. Audition Music is available in the Canvas Class titled “Wind Band Auditions 2021”. Having any issues? Contact your band director for assistance.



SAVE THE DATES! Pride Awards and Senior Celebrations
  • Pride Class of 2021 Senior Celebrations- May 27- Noon - late afternoon at BAHS (More details TBA)
  • ALL Pride 2020 Awards Assembly & Celebration- May 27- Evening (More details TBA)
We are excited for our Celebration sof the recent Pride Season and our Class of 2021 Pride Seniors!  Since this week's focus is centered around the 5 Band concerts this week, we will have many details to share in the next edition of eNews!


Next Band Parent / Booster Meeting on May 18 AND Volunteer Fair - NEXT WEEK
The next meeting will be on Thursday, May 18 at 7:00pm at the BA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER. See you there on May 18. This will be a HUGE Parent Meeting to officially kick off the Pride 2021 Season. ALL PRIDE MEMBER PARENTS must plan to attend this meeting at the BAPAC. The Band Boosters will also host our “Volunteer Fair” with one on one info to get ‘plugged in’ and ready to help the Pride of Broken Arrow reach all of its volunteer needs and goals. The Volunteer Fair is a come and go event from 6:00-7:00PM in the BA PAC Lobby and concludes just prior to the Big Parent Meeting starting at 7:00PM.


ALL 2021 Pride Members - Initial Trip Payments
While the complete details regarding the Pride’s RETURN to FUL TRAVEL Schedule will be shared in detail at the May 18 Parent Meeting. All 2021 Pride members need to begin making payments to their ’Student Account’. These first payments may be made at the HS Band Office, on Charms via Credit Card, OR mail them to:

Pride Mattress Fundraiser - May 15
The Pride will, once again, hold our Mattress Fundraiser on Saturday, May 15. This is a terrific fundraiser! All Pride members will be assigned a shift to work that day (8th grade students from Childers will have their shift flexed around the Childers Band Concert that day). We am very excited about this fundraiser for many reasons:

  • The kids do not have to sell anything!
  • The kids do not have to collect money or be responsible for distribution!
  • We will raise several thousand dollars in a one-day event!
  • This costs us nothing!

  • The mattresses are brand name and priced up to 50% less than retail!
  • The kids can earn “personal referral” incentives!

Once you’ve scrolled to bottom of the homepage in the lower right corner, type your email address in the “Email Newsletter” box. In addition, all previous editions of the E-News letter is in the link identified as “E-News Archive”.  Of course if you're reading this here, YOU'RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE!

May is a big month for the BA Bands program. We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming parent meeting and awards ceremony.

At the parent meeting, you will have an opportunity to visit with board officers about various places to serve in the organization. We encourage you to find a place, even if you have limited time to help. You get back so much more than you give, and make a huge difference for our students with every hour served.

These events should be on your calendar:

  • Band Parent Meeting Tuesday, May 18th at BA PAC (includes color guard member parents)
  • Sr. Picnic Thursday, May 27th estimated time 11:00 am - 3:30 pm
  • Awards Ceremony Thursday, May 27th estimated start 7:30 pm (Admission will be open to parents and others who wish to attend. Ticket information will be available soon.)
We will host a rookie parent meeting to be held soon after the May 18th meeting. If you are a rookie parent, start making a list of questions. We are eager to help you get involved and be “in the know”! Don’t hesitate to reach out to a board member if you have an immediate question.

As we start ramping up for the new season, there will be a lot of important information to communicate. Make sure you have your Charms account set up. Please check with Mrs. Good if you have any issues. Just a reminder, Charms is our primary means of communication. Please rely on this source rather than various social media groups for the most accurate information.

We have moved to charms so please make sure all information in charms is correct. We imported information from CUTTIME into Charms.

Welcome new band families! Rookie parents, mark your calendars for May 25th! We will have a rookie parent meeting to help you get started and answer any questions about our program. We will also start our mentor program soon. If you want to get connected with a mentor parent in your child’s section email me at babandvp@gmail.com. Veteran parents, if you’ve had a child in pride more than 2 years and would like to be the section mentor please email me.

It’s time to start planning our fall season. If you know a business that would like to donate a pallet of bottled water or feed the pride, please email me their contact information.

RESTAURANT DINE OUTS: Due to a scheduling conflict with the Garage there will NOT BE a May 18 Dine Out with them. We tentatively have Tuesday, June 1st scheduled for a NEW restaurant in BA, but details still to come!

UPCOMING FUNDRAISING:
Our 2nd annual Mattress Sale Fundraiser will be here Saturday, May 15 from 10am-4pm. Last year we made over $9,000.00 (in a pandemic). This fundraiser is great for both group and individual accounts. Students get money in their individual accounts for those they refer and that buy a mattress. Please promote with a yard sign and on social media. Students will be assigned a shift to promote the sale at designated corners near the high school, and we will need adults to volunteer to assist as well. Sign ups and more information will be out SOON through Charms and Facebook.
