Charms

For those new to the Pride, Charms is a student management software used by the bands to manage student accounts, uniforms, inventory, communication, etc., in all areas of the band program. All Pride members for 2021 have been pre-registered in Charms. To log in, visit www.CharmsOffice.com, use the parent log in tab and the school code “brokenarrowband”. The initial log in password is your student’s ID number. If you have forgotten your password, please email Lisa Good at lsgood@baschools.org to have it reset. Please also update the profile information for you and your students. Students should have their own email address. See THIS informative sheet for new Charms users.

Specific 2021 Pride Information - Charms
As a reminder to all current 2021 Pride members and parents, all specific communications regarding Pride will be communicated via Charms. Make sure your account is set up and your parent info is added to you child’s account. All info from the recent booster club meeting is being sent to you via Charms.

Pride Camp Continues THIS WEEK!
The full Pride of Broken Arrow Marching Band has started their mandatory camp and the Pride is off to a great start. We will continue this week with another outstanding week of progress for the 2021 Pride of Broken Arrow! Please be sure to continue conditioning your body for the intense Broken Arrow weather and heat! Each Horn Line and Percussion member must wear a White T-Shirt, proper marching shoes, have a water cooler, sunscreen and a hat.

NOTES:
  • - Broken Arrow HS is a closed campus. Members may not leave the campus during a meal break.
  • - Students and parents may not park in Loading Dock lanes for Faculty Parking lots (ie. lot west of the aux gym)
  • - NO Drop offs are permitted in the Loading Dock Lanes to the west of the Band Hall OR in the Faculty parking lot west of the Band Hall
  • - It is a very demanding time of year. The kids and staff are working very hard to achieve excellence. As parents, we can help in many ways. One important example is to arrive on time to pick up the kids. Kids and staff will appreciate your timeliness.
  • - All rehearsals are closed until notice is made for open rehearsals for the end of a stadium rehearsal session.
  • - Members should bring: sunscreen, hat, food for meal break, iced water jug, and all items needed for rehearsal

Sophomores and Tiger Camp / Schedule Pick up
As the school finalizes their schedule pick up requirements, they are great about working any needed alternative schedule pick up times to help coordinate with the Pride Camp Schedule. Tiger Camp is a BAHS orientation for Sophomores. Tiger Camp is offered by the school is multiple sessions, however due to the Pride Camp rehearsal schedule, Pride sophomores may attend during the following designated sessions:

Horn line: August 3 (9:00-12:00) with Pride rehearsal beginning at 1:00pm

Guard & Perc: August 3 (2:00-5:00) following the morning rehearsal session and members will be back for the beginning of the evening rehearsal

PRESIDENTS

The season has started!  There is a lot happening behind the scenes, and even more will be coming soon.  Make sure you find your place to plug in and be an active part of this wonderful organization.  You'll be glad you did!

As we start ramping up for the new season, there will be a lot of important information to communicate. Make sure you have your Charms account set up. Please check with Mrs. Good if you have any issues. Just a reminder, Charms is our primary means of communication. Please rely on this source rather than various social media groups for the most accurate information.

Please check spam filters for emails sent via charms, especially if you have a XXXX@cox.net.

VICE - PRESIDENTS

BABANDVP@gmail.com

There are a few bummers left at both BA Family Drug locations. If you are in need of one please drop by and pick it up ASAP. Make sure you tell them thank you for supporting the Pride.

All Pride members (except for Color Guard) need to stop by for uniform fittings either this Tuesday, July 13, or next Tuesday, July 20th. We will send out an email as soon as we have the date for color guard. This will be the first of several fittings since we have more than one uniform. Please be patient with our parent volunteers and allow enough time in your schedule for possible long lines. Vets need to check their current black marching shoes to make sure they fit and know your shoe size before you come in.

If you know of a business that would like to donate a meal this season please email me so I can get in touch with them.

SPONSORSHIPS & GROUP FUNDRAISING

babandsponsors@gmail.com

SPONSORSHIPS: We are looking for corporate sponsors for the 2021 season. If you know of a business or person who might like to sponsor BA Bands and the Pride, please let us know at the email above. We have many different levels and ways to be a Pride sponsor. We have forms we will send to you or to the company to begin the process!

SUGGESTIONS: If you have ideas or suggestions please send an email to the address above. We are always looking for new and fun ways to support BA Bands and The Pride. Thank you to those who have already sent us leads; we will continue to follow up on those.

SHARING: Continue to share events on your Facebook and other social media accounts. The Family & Friends FB page is a closed, private page so it does not let you share outside the group. You must save the flyer or image to your device then repost to your own page. The BA Bands FB page is an open page so you should be able to reshare from it.

ONGOING FUNDRAISING:

  • Sign Gypsies benefits both individual and group accounts. See details on Facebook or contact the email above for details. Be sure you tell them thank you for the awesome signs they put up for the Pride Awards Banquet this year.
  • Do you order from Amazon? Did you know you can go through what is called Amazon Smile and pick the Broken Arrow Band Booster Club, Inc. as the non-profit who receives a small percent of every eligible purchase you make. Every little bit counts. If you need help with it, email us at the address above.
CURRENT FUNDRAISING:
  • Thanks to ALL who made our simultaneous car washes successful this year. These large group fundraisers take everyone to get involved. In the coming weeks, we will get the poster competition photos voted on by Directors and let you know who won. If you did not get a copy of the schedule or the info on the competition, please make sure both your student and parent emails are updated in Charms, our financial and informational application. All that info went out that way so it is imperative both students and parents get connected in it.
  • HUGE! July 1 we went live with the online option of the 2021 Car Raffle! A Charms email went out with lots of details so if you did not get it, please check your Charms account for what email is registered there. We will be sending out a similar email from Charms on July 25 with the same info plus a digital flyer and more details on how to get your paper certificates if you want to offer paper instead of (or in addition to) digital certificates. We will be signing out paper tickets THIS week on Thursday, July 29th from 7 to 9pm in the Band Hall “Hallway”. A parent or guardian is required to check them out. There will be other dates to pick up TBD. Remember, this is a required participation fundraiser.
  • Also, on the first day of camp, we handed out free car raffle promo shirts to each student that attended. If you did not get yours for some reason, a parent may sign for their student when they pick up paper certificates or the student may stop by after practice on Thursday, July 29 to get theirs.
RESTAURANT DINE OUTS:
  • Stay tuned for the next one
UPCOMING FUNDRAISING:
  • Although a ways out, we have planned a holiday fundraiser with Board and Brush of Tulsa. Spaces will be limited so watch for that one to start promotions in August.

Row with us! We can do this TOGETHER!
