2011 "Destiny Leaves You No Choice" Pride Reunion - October 14

It’s time to celebrate an amazing milestone in the history of the Pride of Broken Arrow! At halftime of the Homecoming Football game on Thursday, October 14th we will honor the members of the DESTINY 2011 Grand National Champion Band! It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed since Broken Arrow won its Second Grand National Championship! All members of 2011 Destiny Pride are cordially invited to join us in Broken Arrow on October 14th. Events will include: halftime recognition of the 10 year anniversary of the 2011 Grand National Championship, Join the current Pride in the Band Stand for the 2nd half of the football game, and a post game reception with a viewing of the 2011 "Destiny Leaves You No Choice" performance from Grand National Finals! …

All DESTINY members that are able to attend will meet at the North End Zone at the beginning of halftime and be recognized before the 2021 Pride performs at halftime. During the second half of the game we encourage you to come to the band stand and visit with each other and say hi to the band. After the game, there will be a reception in the new Field House Lobby with refreshments followed by a viewing of the 2011 Grand National Finals Performance of DESTINY LEAVES YOU NO CHOICE! This should be a GREAT night!

PRESIDENTS

The season has started!  There is a lot happening behind the scenes, and even more will be coming soon.  Make sure you find your place to plug in and be an active part of this wonderful organization.  You'll be glad you did!

As we start ramping up for the new season, there will be a lot of important information to communicate. Make sure you have your Charms account set up. Please check with Mrs. Good if you have any issues. Just a reminder, Charms is our primary means of communication. Please rely on this source rather than various social media groups for the most accurate information.

Please check spam filters for emails sent via charms, especially if you have a XXXX@cox.net.

VICE - PRESIDENTS

BABANDVP@gmail.com

We need junior and senior parent volunteers for the Senior reception. Planning will start very soon. If you are interested in helping or have questions please email babandvp@gmail.com. This is a fun and easy way to volunteer and get to know some new parents.

Our Pride Nurses have seen A LOT of hornline students the past few days with hurt/ scraped/ bloody knees. Knee pads are strongly encouraged as the choreography is in full swing. You can purchase these fairly cheap in the sporting section at Wal-Mart.

Button picture make-ups will be before the home football game on October 1st. If you were one of the few students who was sick or out of town for picture day this is your opportunity to get a button picture. After you are in uniform go directly to the band hall for pictures.

UNIFORM UPDATE: Hornline students need to try on white compression shirts and sliders. Any size changes MUST be corrected Tuesday before or after rehearsal. We will have extra shirts and sliders for sale in the uniform room once we have taken care of all the size changes. If anyone wants to donate white marching shoes from 2018, you may bring them to the uniform room. We will be using these for extras as needed. Obviously white shoes will need to be kept clean. Magic Erasers work great for this. It would be a good idea for students to keep one in their pride bag. We will be washing white uniforms after the dress rehearsal this Saturday. Washer parents will need to make arrangements to pick them up following the dress rehearsal and return them by Tuesday of the following week. Please check for stains (especially on knees) and use shout wipes or stain stick. Any uniform questions email bauniform@gmail.com

This week’s Feeding Frenzy sponsor is Oklahoma Joes!

SPONSORSHIPS: We are looking for corporate sponsors for the 2021 season. If you know of a business or person who might like to sponsor BA Bands and the Pride, please let us know at the email above. We have many different levels and ways to be a Pride sponsor. We have forms we will send to you or to the company to begin the process!

SUGGESTIONS: If you have ideas or suggestions please send an email to the address above. We are always looking for new and fun ways to support BA Bands and The Pride. Thank you to those who have already sent us leads; we will continue to follow up on those.

SHARING: Continue to share events on your Facebook and other social media accounts. The Family & Friends FB page is a closed, private page so it does not let you share outside the group. You must save the flyer or image to your device then repost to your own page. The BA Bands FB page is an open page so you should be able to reshare from it.

ONGOING FUNDRAISING:
  • Sign Gypsies benefits both individual and group accounts. See details on Facebook or contact the email above for details. Be sure you tell them thank you for the awesome signs they put up for the Pride Awards Banquet this year.
  • Do you order from Amazon? Did you know you can go through what is called Amazon Smile and pick the Broken Arrow Band Booster Club, Inc. as the non-profit who receives a small percent of every eligible purchase you make. Every little bit counts. If you need help with it, email us at the address above.
CURRENT FUNDRAISING:
  • Latest Car Raffle Info:
  • We will have a check out/check in of paper certificates this week on Thursday, September 23 8:00-9:00pm (notice shorter time window) in band hallway.

  • We plan to have a booth in the Cool Grilles Car Show put on by the Rotary Club in downtown BA on Saturday, September 25.  That signup will be going out this weekend along with the 3 home games we will sell at. When a BAI schedule is made available, we will also have signups for it.
  • Planning for the holidays: Board and Brush of Tulsa is offering a chance to GIVE BACK to the Broken Arrow Bands with a fundraiser where 20% of all proceeds come back to the BA Bands. The workshop will be on Sunday, November 28, 2021 2-5pm. They specialize in helping you create beautiful projects on wood in a variety of themes from which you get to choose. Spend a couple hours with friends and family who also love our bands the weekend after Thanksgiving to make great keepsakes. A shareable flyer will be posted on FB and sent via Charms, but you may register and invite others to register by going here: CLICK HERE. Access code is BA.
