TONIGHT - OMEA Preview Honor Band Concert - Tuesday, January 18

TONIGHT On Tuesday, January 18 our BAHS Wind Ensemble will present a concert to Preview their performances for the Oklahoma Music Educators (OMEA) Conference. This concert will begin at 7:00pm at the BAPAC in the Kristin Chenowith Theatre and is FREE. This concert will be brief and be completed by approximately 7:45pm.


OMEA Honor Band Performance by the HS Wind Ensemble
The HS Wind Ensemble will be performing at the Oklahoma Music Educators Association (OMEA) Annual Conference as an Honor Band. This is an extremely prestigious occasion! Be sure to mark your calendar to attend the Honor Concert at the Tulsa Convention Center on Friday, January 21. Tickets are available at the door for $20 and seating is general admission for this concert. Please note: this is a ceremonious event and appropriate attire is expected. Please, no jeans or T-shirts.


OMEA Convention and All State Band - January 19-22
Students that earned a coveted spot in the All OMEA Ensembles (Band, Jazz and Orchestra) will meet at the downtown Indigo Hotel on Wednesday evening (January 19). The All OMEA concerts will be held on Saturday at the Tulsa PAC (Band & Orchestra) and the Aloft Hotel (Jazz). See the attached itineraries.

E-Jazz Band
Congratulations to all who participated in the auditions for E-Jazz.  Rehearsals are on each Monday & Wednesday from 3:15-5:00pm at BAHS.  Rehearsals will start on Monday, January 24.

Spring High School Band Trip for Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band 1
We are thrilled that the HS Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band 1 have been accepted to perform in the Kansas City Music For All Regional Festival. All trips are required as part of each students enrollment in the Performance Based Classes of the High School Concert Bands. Fundraising opportunities are available to assist students in making their monthly payments. Please contact our BABBC Fundraising Chair at BABandFundraising@gmail.com for more information. The band trips are as follows:

HS Wind Ensemble & Symphonic Band 1 - Music For All National Regional Concert Band Festival - Kansas City, MO
Depart: Wednesday, March 9
Perform: Thursday, March 10
Return to BA: Friday, March 11


Basketball Band Performances for All HS Band Members
Each of the HS band classes are required to perform at the HS Basketball games. Games are assigned by class / group. Should a student be enrolled in more than one band class, they must perform at the corresponding game to fulfill their band class requirement for each class they are enrolled. Students may volunteer to attend additional games but no substitutions are permitted. Report time for each event is 6:00pm. For each session the band will play at the girls and boys varsity basketball games. Games are typically completed by approximately 9:15pm. The schedule is as follows:

1/4 - Tuesday - Symphonic Band 1 - COMPLETED
2/1 - Tuesday - Symphonic Band 2
2/4 - Friday - Concert Band
2/15 - Tuesday - Seniors
2/18 - Friday - Wind Ensemble
