2022 PRIDE INFORMATION
We are very excited to move into the auditions of the 2022 Pride of Broken Arrow! With much needed time that we’ve been “off,” it will be exciting to ‘get the gang back together’ and begin prepping for another incredible season for the Pride of Broken Arrow. The following are items of note:

Horn Line
Horn Line will hold auditions THIS week!
  • - Horn line Visual Audition
    Tuesday, March 29 (6:30-8:30)at BAHS Stadium
  • - Horn line Visual Audition
    Thursday, March 31 (6:30-8:30)at BAHS Stadium
  • - Horn line Visual Audition
    Friday, April 1 (6:30-8:30)at BAHS Stadium
  • - Horn line Music Audition
    Virtual Submission by April 1 (Veterans do not need to submit a music audition)

Horn Line NOTES:
  • - Horn Line Music Audition applies to potential first year members ONLY. Returning veteran’s are not required to submit a Pride Music Audition
  • - Music Auditions must be submitted in the Canvas “Pride Audition Class” using the media recorder no later than 11:50pm on Friday (April 1)
  • - Horn Line Visual auditions will be at the BAHS Stadium on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday THIS week.
  • - Students must provide their own transportation to and from BAHS Memorial Stadium
  • - Horn Line students should bring their band instrument, wear a white T shirt, and be ready to learn a lot and have fun.
  •  - Students must attend all 3 Visual session this week (Tuesday, Thursday AND Friday)

Percussion
The Pride percussion section will audition after the conclusion of the Indoor Percussion season. Auditions will take place for the percussion section in May.

TCC Band Festival this Friday (4/1)
Each of the HS wind bands (BAHS & Freshman Academy) will appear in the TCC Band Festival on Friday, April 1. Refer to itineraries that have been distributed by your student's band director. The performances are free and open to the public.


OBA / BOA Regional Concert Band Festival Next Friday (4/8)
The HS Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band 1 will participate in next week’s OBA / BOA Regional Concert Band Festival. This educational performance and clinic will feature many bands from the region in this unique performance festival. This event will take place at the University of Tulsa Lorton Performance Center. Itineraries will be available this week.


Pride Banquet Save the Date April 29
Save the Date! The Pride Banquet is tentatively scheduled for Friday, April 29th at the Renaissance Hotel & Conference Center. Ticket Information will be available soon. This will be an amazing event to celebrate all of the successes of the season.

Spring High School Band Trip for Symphonic Band 2 & Concert Band
We are excited that the HS Symphonic Band 2 and Concert Band will take a trip to Branson, MO to perform in the Heartland Music Festival AND spend time at Silver Dollar City. This will be a 1 day trip to Branson and back to BA all in the same day on Saturday, May 7. Fundraising opportunities are available to assist students in making their monthly payments. Please contact our BABBC Fundraising Chair at BABandFundraising@gmail.com for more information. The band trips are as follows:

Freshman Academy Bands - Upcoming Events
The Freshman Academy Bands will have a Pre-Contest concert at BAFA on April 7. The Concert begins at 7:00 pm in the gym. BAFA schedules for TCC and OSSAA can be found in Canvas Assignments through HAC. 8th grade auditions for BAFA are due April 8 in Canvas.


Band Scholarships - Applications Now Available
The BA Bands are pleased to now offer THREE SCHOLARSHIPS to a Broken Arrow High School Seniors who are current members of the BA Bands and plan to enter an institution of higher education. The CAROL DAVIS, PARIS YORK and KEN GRASS Memorial Scholarships are each Scholarships of $1,000.00 may be utilized to cover the costs of tuition, books, fees or other expenses while attending an institution of higher education. The application form is an online form and is due in the band office by April 30. Supplemental materials are to be submitted to Mrs. Good in the Band Office.

NDOOR PERCUSSION
THANK YOU to all of our parent volunteers, students, and staff of Broken Arrow Indoor Percussion for your work on hosting a tremendously successful WGPO Contest at BAHS this past Saturday! Without your help, work, dedication, and commitment to our students and program, we simply would not be able to do what we do!

Broken Arrow Indoor performed to an enthusiastic and very well-attended audience and earned 1st place in Percussion-Scholastic World with a score of 85.2 (the highest score of the day for ALL groups!)

Broken Arrow Indoor will now move to complete the 2022 production in the upcoming week, with our next performance on Saturday, April 9th at the WGPO Percussion Circuit Championships here at BAHS. WGI World Championships are just 4 weeks away; we are excited to begin our final "push" to the World Championships in Dayton, OH April 21-23!

We will have an open-rehearsal at the end of the week on Saturday, April 2nd from 4:30-5:00 PM at the BAHS Main Gym; we hope to see you there!


Jazz Ensemble 1
​Congratulations to the students of Broken Arrow Jazz 1 at their performance at the UCO Jazz Lab this past week! (Picture attached!). Jazz 1 will perform this Thursday at 7 PM at the NSU-BA campus with the NSU-Tahlequah Jazz Band.
