Student of the Week

Carter Loud is a senior and a member of the Wind Ensemble, Pride, and Jazz I. He is also a three-year all-state member and has been the principal tuba of the Tulsa Youth Symphony for the past five years. Last summer Carter attended the Atlantic Brass Quintet Summer Seminar in Boston, MA; this summer he will attend The Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain for the third consecutive year.

Carter was recently accepted into The Cleveland Institute of Music and will start classes this fall studying with Yasuhito Sugiyama, principal tuba with The Cleveland Orchestra. We are very proud of Carter for all of his accomplishments! Come hear Carter play with the HS Wind Ensemble on Tuesday, May 5th at the BAPAC.

Music For All Summer Symposium
The Music for All Summer Symposium offers a week-long, immersive camp experience for high school band and orchestra students in all areas of instrumental and color guard performance, and leadership. This camp is the last full week of June, the 22-27. Students will get to experience clinics and performances from world renowned educators and performers, as well as a very competitive drum corps show on Friday night. There are seven student divisions – concert band, jazz band, marching band, orchestra, percussion, color guard, and the BOA Drum Major Institute. Leadership is the central theme based around every division. 98% of all student evaluations received said that their overall impression of the Summer Symposium met their expectations and 91% said the Symposium exceeded their expectations. 100% would recommend it to their friends.

Head here to read more about the MFA Summer Symposium!
