Directors Notes

CAR WASH
Attending the Annual Car Wash on June 20th is REQUIRED by all Pride Members. Please CLICK HERE to see which location and what time you are required to attend. At this time, we are asking PARENTS who are interested in watching and helping the kids to contact Cori Aschkenas @ BABandfundraising@gmail.com. Please note, each student should bring sun block, water to drink, and either A TOWEL, DISH SOAP, OR A SPONGE!


North Commemoration Ceremony
All 2015 Pride Leadership members and veteran battery percussion members will play the "Pep Rally" at the North Commemoration Ceremony. These members must wear their "Pride / Tradition T-Shirt" and report inside the North Intermediate HS Gymnasium by 10:30am on Saturday... YES, This Saturday! These members will then return to their Car Wash location assignment at the conclusion of this event.)


Summer Band Academy
What a tremendous success the BA Summer Band Academy was! It was wonderful to see the number of students involved and their commitment to continued musical excellence. The efforts of the Band Staff, Leadership Team, guest artists and most importantly the student musicians were amazing! Thank you to all that made this event such a success!!

ONLY 3 SEATS LEFT ON THE BUS TO GRAND NATIONALS IN INDY!!

FIRST PRIDE DINE OUT NIGHT AT OKLAHOMA JOES!
The first Dine Out night of the season has been scheduled for June 23rd at Oklahoma Joe’s BBQ located near the Bass Pro Shop. Between the hours of 4 PM to 8 PM, Oklahoma Joe’s will donate 10% of your check back to the Pride of Broken Arrow. Simply tell them you are with the Pride! Looking forward to seeing you there!


FUNCTIONS
The Visual Effect Support Team (VEST) is preparing to sew, cut, iron, wash and all out support our kiddos. If you would like to receive notifications for opportunities to serve with the VEST, please text @a8e633 to 81010.

Additionally, we are ready to sew practice flags. If you would be willing to take a few home to work on, please contact Vondal at 918.851.9255 to arrange to pick them up.

Thanks to all those who have volunteered already for popsicle duty. If you haven't and would like to, send an email to bafunctions@gmail.com.

We will take popsicle donations during the car wash. Please make sure they are the "pop ice" type liquid sticks that can be frozen when needed.


FUNDRAISING

EARN MONEY FOR YOUR BAND TRIP ACCOUNT! Work in the home plate concession stand at the Tulsa Drillers baseball games. Earn $35 for evening and weekend games and $45 for day games. If you and your student (or any family member 14 or older) work just 10 games, you will put at least $700 in your account and IT'S FUN!! For more information, please email bapridework@hotmail.com.

Discount Card Fundraiser - All money for Discount Cards needs to be turned in by July 15th. Do you need more cards? Contact us, we have a few left! $20 for 23 local business discounts!! $15 per card will get credited to your child’s trip account!!! NEW Facebook page for BA Bands Fundraising and Pride Store activities
This page is for BA Bands Students and Parents only.  Please ask to join the page titled FUNDRAISING FOR THE PRIDE OF BROKEN ARROW AND BROKEN ARROW BANDS.  Order forms, due dates, when to pick up fundraising items, and when the Pride Store will be open are just some of the things that will be available on this page.

PowerPoint presentations with regard to Fundraising, The Pride Store, and the Charms Online Store are available on the Pride Website under the Resource Tab.  Click on Pride Store.

OPERATIONS
For all current and future members of the operations team, there will be a meeting on Thursday, June 18th at the stadium. We’ll go over what work will be needed for the upcoming season with regards to props and equipment. Will also need to have several volunteers to support the car wash activities on Saturday, June 20th.

Drums of Summer is Tuesday July 21st and we need your help. Visit brokenarrowpride.com click on events then Drums of Summer. Once there move to the lower right hand of the webpage and select 'click here' in the volunteer section. There is a place to list areas you'd like to work. Add concessions in that box to join us for this event or email baconcessions@gmail.com anytime.


Special Events
We need around 100 volunteers to make this event a success. WE NEED YOU! Sign up now by CLICKING HERE!!

DCI Drum Corp competition will be hosted at BAHS on Tuesday, July 21st. Please help us promote this event by liking our drumsofsummer.com facebook page and getting the word out. Tickets are on sale now at DCI.org.

Ticket sales will start at 3 pm, gates open at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm.

We would like to welcome BA Bands Health and Wellness partners: Wellspring Family Clinic and Broken Arrow Family Drug! Wellspring Family Clinic has partnered with BA Family Drug to offer the mandatory physicals for Pride students and complimentary BA Pride Quick Start care packages.

All Pride members are required to have the standard OSSAA activities physical examination done before July 23, 2015. Wellspring Family Clinic will be on site at the BAHS campus selected dates following the Pride mini-camp rehearsals in mid-July to complete physicals. Additionally, they will have special Saturday hours at their clinic July 11th and July 18th to get your child’s physical done. You may call their offices at 918-461-0422 for more information. The cost of the physical is $25 per student.

Please be advised, if you opt to schedule your appointment at the Wellspring Family Clinic offices, it is possible your health insurer (including SoonerCare) may pay for the service as a well-child checkup with no out of pocket charge to you. Consult your health insurance provider for more information.
