Special Recognition for All 2015 Pride Members and HS Wind Ensemble on February 15
Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mendenhall, and members of the Broken Arrow Public Schools Board of Education will honor and recognize EACH MEMBER of the Pride of Broken Arrow and HS Wind Ensemble at the next school board meeting on Monday, February 15. The amazing success of this year’s Grand National Championship and Sudler Shield as well as the incredible Midwest Clinic Performance by the HS Wind Ensemble don’t go unnoticed by our School Board members, the Superintendent of Schools and the entire administrative team. ALL Pride members and HS Wind Ensemble members will be recognized (by name) at the School Board Meeting on Monday, February 15 at the BA PAC. All parents and students are encouraged to attend this special recognition. The Meeting will begin at 6:00pm. PLEASE NOTE: Classes are NOT in session on the day of this school board meeting. Please plan for all members to attend this special recognition.


Time to Smell the Roses!
The Pride of Broken Arrow has been invited to participate in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on January 2, 2017(The Rose never occurs on a Sunday), pending school board approval. Stay tuned for many more upcoming announcements and details as we begin the fundraising process to send the Pride marching down Colorado Boulevard!


Broken Arrow wins the Sudler Shield!
At the conclusion of the 2015 Midwest Clinic, the Sousa Foundation announced the winners of the Sudler Shield - an International Award Recognizing High School, Youth and International Marching Bands of World Class Excellence. The Broken Arrow HS band and the Keller HS band were announced as the winners of the 2015 Sudler Shield. A formal award presentation will be made in Broken Arrow with representatives from the Sousa Foundation at a later date to be determined. Broken Arrow has now been recognized for this prestigious award on an unprecedented 3 occasions (1998, 2008 and now 2015)!


Pride Banquet Date - April 29th
Save the Date! The Pride Banquet will be on Friday, April 29th at the Tulsa Renaissance Hotel. Ticket Information will be available soon and go on sale at the February Band Parent Meeting. This will be an amazing event to celebrate all of the successes of the season.


Championship Ring Orders and Sizing
Mark your calendar for Thursday, February 25 for the Jostens representatives to place Championship Ring orders from the 2014 & 2015 Seasons. Ring orders may be placed on 2/25 at the HS Band Hall with the Jostens Reps from 2:30-4:30. More info to come regarding total price, deposit info and projected discount due to received Ring Donations from our community and sponsors.


NBDA JH All-District Honor Bands
Congratulations to each of our 100+ HS All District Band members that performed in their concert this past Saturday. It is truly remarkable to witness the commitment and dedication of these dedicated band musicians. We are extremely proud of you.


OSSAA Solo and Ensemble Contest - March 5
The OSSAA Solo and Ensemble Contest is on Saturday, March 5 at Sapulpa HS. Students will meet at the HS Band Hall to take school transportation to and from the event. Performance times have not been published yet by the OSSAA.


Next Band Parent Meeting
Our next band parent meeting will be on Monday, March 7 in the High School Band Hall at 7:00pm.


Indoor Percussion Information
There will be an Indoor Percussion Preview Night this Thursday at 8:30PM in the BAHS Main Gym/Tiger Fieldhouse. Doors will open at 8:30PM for the ending of the rehearsal as well as a performance of a portion of the 2016 Indoor Percussion program “SAMSARA: the cycle of life” The itinerary for the WGPO Choctaw contest is now available - performance time is 4:25PM at Choctaw HS.

WGI Dallas Regional
Details and itinerary will be released soon. The WGI Regional will be held on Saturday, Feb 27 at Burleson Centennial HS in Burleson, TX. Broken Arrow’s prelim time is at 1:25PM; Finals performance time will be between 8:10-9:00PM. Tickets are $12 for prelims, $15 for finals or $21 for a prelims/finals combo ticket. Tickets are available at the door.

A Few Reminders...
Applications are now being accepted for BABPA officer positions for the 2016-2017 year. To download an application or review the various position descriptions, please visit the Parent Association section under the “Resources” tab of the BA Bands website at www.brokenarrowpride.com. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY 5 PM, SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 28.

Officer Application : Job Descriptions

Every few years, the bylaws of the Broken Arrow Band Parent Association must be reviewed and revised as necessary to ensure they continue to serve the needs of the organization. Proposed bylaws have been posted in the Parent Association section under the “Resources” tab at www.brokenarrowpride.com. Please take a moment to read over these bylaws and be prepared to vote concerning their adoption at our next band parent meeting.

The next regular meeting of the BA Band Parent Association will be held MONDAY, MARCH 7.


ATTENTION 2015 WIND ENSEMBLE GRADUATES
The Wind Ensemble of 2015 was awarded Citations of Congratulations from the State of Oklahoma for their performance and selection to the MidWest Band and Orchestra Clinic. These certificates are awaiting pick up in the band office at the high school. Office hours are 7:30am to 4:00pm daily. Please pass along this information to any alum that may not get eNews.

TEAM MEETING- If you would like to be a part of the Fundraising and Pride Store Teams, INCLUDING INDOOR PERCUSSION MOM’S/DAD’S, please join us for a team information meeting this Tuesday, February 16th at 6:30 in the band hall at BAHS!

Dine Out Night at Noodles and Company on February 23rd from 5-9 pm. Noodles and Company will be donating 25% back to Broken Arrow Bands. We hope to see you there!
