School Owned Instrument Check Out
All students that need to check out a school owned instrument may pick them up on Tuesday, May 31 at the HS Band Office from 5:30-7:00pm. In order to pick up an instrument a student AND parent signature are REQUIRED. Also, the Fall Semester User fee of $35 must be paid in order to take your instrument for the summer. REMINDER: You MUST have a parent signature to check out your instrument.

Pride Rehearsal and Performance Calendar
Please refer to the band’s online calendar for up to date info regarding rehearsal schedules, performance events, and upcoming band events. The Pride’s mandatory summer camp begins on July 25. Once classes begin a typical rehearsal week is as follows:

2016 Pride Performance Schedule!
The Pride will once again travel to unique locations and provide amazing experiences for our students. Mark your calendars for the Bands of America Super Regional in St. Louis during fall break AND the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade in Southern California during winter break.

Pasadena Tournament of Roses Trip Information
The Rose Parade (not the Rose BOWL Parade) predates the football game as will be celebrating its 128th trip down Colorado Boulevard. The Rose Parade boasts a live audience of 1 MILLION spectator and a worldwide television audience of over 350 MILLION viewers in over 40 countries.

Depart: December 29 (early)

Arrive in BA: January 4 (very early morning)
Performances: Bandfest (Date TBD), Disneyland (Jan 1), Tournament of Roses Parade (Jan 2)

Pride Account Payments / Charms / Group Fundraising / Payment Schedule
Until notified in an upcoming eNews, all payments to 2016 Pride New-Member Student Accounts must be made by delivering to the BAHS Band Office OR by mailing to BAHS. New Pride Member Charms accounts are still under construction to be set up for each member. We will make an eNews notification once the Charms accounts are set up for the 2016 Pride season. The next payment of $250 is due. The June payment is $300. Band Summer Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00-4:00pm. NOTE: The additional Color Guard fee is currently undetermined and will announced asap (previous year’s CB fee is typically around $300)

What is Group Fundraising?
The BA Band Parent Association is committed to fundraising efforts to reduce the trip cost for EVERY Pride member (possibly in excess of $1000 per member!). Group fundraising requires the participation of ALL members to achieve that goal. The More We Give; The More We GET! Examples of group fundraisers are: Mattress Fundraiser, Andy’s Cards, Corporate Sponsorships, Pride Golf Tournament, Rustic Cuff, Run With the Pride, Volunteering for BA Community Events, Movie Nights, Car Washes, Sounds of the Stadium Concert, etc.

All members must communicate all Pride absences by emailing attendance@BrokenArrowPride.com Please remember that ALL rehearsal and performances are mandatory beginning July 25. All mini camp and rehearsal sessions prior to July 25 will allow absences based on vacation or attendance to a ‘camp’ (music camp, church camp, etc), however, ALL absences must be communicated in advance.


Family & Friends Tours to California from GMT (Grueninger Music Tours)
In conjunction with Grueninger Music Tours, the BA Bands are pleased to offer 4 different “Family & Friends Tours” to the Pasadena Tournament of Roses in Southern California. The packages through GMT range from “Fully Escorted” (including airfare) to “Independent”. Refer to the attached literature and registration form for additional info. PLEASE NOTE: The BA Bands is not organizing this event or accepting any funds for the “Family & Friends Tours” and all questions, payments and other info should be communicated directly to the GMT website or offices.

Pride Physicals Due by July 22
All Pride members must have a new physical on file for the 2016 season. You may choose the physician of your choice BUT MUST SUBMIT THIS ATTACHED 2 PAGE OSSAA FORM. The BA Bands intend to host a physical session with one of our sponsors onsite at BAHS in the month of June or July; however, ALL physical forms must be submitted to the Mrs. Good in the band office no later than July 22.


Wind Band and Jazz Audition Results
Audition Results from the HS Wind Band and Jazz auditions will be posted soon. They will be announced on the BA Bands social media and posted on the BA Bands website once they are ready to post.


Midwest Clinic - Percussion Ensemble Summer Rehearsals
The following is the summer rehearsal schedule for the Percussion Ensemble heading to Midwest:

Drums of Summer - DCI Show in Broken Arrow
The 2016 DCI Show hosted in Broken Arrow will be on Wednesday, July 20 at BA's Memorial Stadium. This year’s event features: Blue Knights, Blue Stars, The Cadets, Colts, Crossmen, and many others. WOW!! What an amazing line up. Tickets are on sale THIS FRIDAY at DrumsOfSummer.com. There are also many opportunities to volunteer. NEW INFO for ALL PRIDE MEMBERS! All Pride members may receive free General Admission Access to the DCI Drums of Summer. This offer applies to all current 2016 members and can't be traded, upgraded or refunded from a previous purchase. We hope to see all of our Pride members at this amazing event at BA’s Stadium on Wednesday, July 20.

The band office will be closed for Memorial Day, May 30th. Mrs. Good will be away from the office from May 31st through June17th. You may still mail payments to the high school. Address them to BA Bands, Attn: Lisa Good, 1901 E. Albany, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.

Charms/Pay Pal
Parents, if you make PayPal payments they must go through the Charms site or they may not post correctly to your student’s account. If you’ve made a PayPal payment and you don’t see it posted to your student’s account in a few days please contact Mrs. Good.


FUNCTIONS
Mentor/Mentee Sign-up. Our mentor program is a way for us to connect parents that have been serving in the BA band parent association with those parents that are new to our organization. We will connect parents of students in the same section to help new parents navigate this wonderful world of Pride!!! If you are a new parent that wishes to be assigned a mentor OR are a veteran parent that would be willing to serve as a mentor, please sign-up Here!!

Special Diets/Medical Conditions. We will feed your students several meals both home and away. If your student has special dietary considerations or medical conditions that you wish us to be aware of, please fill out the form at this Link.

MANDATORY CAR WASH FUNDRAISER- June 18th from 9:30-5:30 at three locations in Broken Arrow. Shifts are 9:15 to 1:30 and 1:15 to 5:30. Each student will work one of these shifts. Watch e-News next week for each Pride Member’s shift and other important information about this fundraiser!

PRIDE DISCOUNT CARDS--New cards have been ordered. At this time, you need to turn in any cards that you know you cannot sell so that others have the opportunity to sell them. Contact Debbie at 918-691-5311 to turn in unsold cards or money from sold cards. If you have sold all your cards, you can get more cards by turning in your money to Debbie as well.

August Band Parent Meeting
FINAL ORDER--Rose Parade Dog Tags, Rose Parade Luggage Tags, Street Sign, Car Decal, Duffle bag. We will not be able to fill any orders placed after the deadline. Please get these turned in at, or before, the August Band Parent Meeting to ensure that you get yours.

September Band Parent Meeting
Show Shirts-We are only placing ONE Show Shirt order this season and we are ordering very few extras. Please get your order turned in no later than the September Band Parent Meeting. We can not guarantee any orders received after the deadline. Pride student will receive 1 free short sleeve show shirt.

GOBA shirts, Show Buttons (Pride member will receive 1 free button), Show Dog Tags and Show Luggage Tags are all due at the September Band Parent Meeting. There will only be ONE order placed for these so please get your orders in.

Orders can be turned in when the Pride Store or Pride Store Closet is open or you can put orders in the marked Payment locker located right outside the Orchestra room or mail to:

The Pride Store will be open again at the June band parent meeting.

ROSE PARADE FUNDRAISING
June 11th: Movie Night on the Field
We will be featuring THE PRINCESS BRIDE. Please share and invite your friends and neighbors to the event. To sign up to volunteer for the event CLICK HERE.  If you took movie fliers at the band parent meeting PLEASE be sure to distribute them around town right away. Let’s get them up in windows of stores and in the break rooms of the larger companies. There are still more fliers so if you would like to get some to distribute please email dani.brian@cox.net.

JULY 17th: Inaugural Golf Tournament
WE NEED YOUR HELP SECURING TEAMS TO PLAY IN THE TOURNAMENT!!! I’M BEGGING HERE FOLKS, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS, ETC AND HELP US SIGN UP TEAMS. The event will be held at the Battlecreek Golf Club. CLICK HERE for information on the event and registration form. We ask you to talk to your friends, neighbors, family members, and co-workers and invite them to participate in the tournament. If you would like to serve on a variety of committees to make the event a success please email Marci Hinnen at baroseparade@gmail.com. We NEED every member’s family to help us find teams to play and companies to sponsor this event in order to make it a huge success. Andy's Coupons: GOING ON NOW!!
If you need to pick up your first 10 coupons, turn in money or get additional tickets please email us at babandsandys@gmail.com. This is a required group fundraiser.  ALL MEMBERS NEED TO SELL 50 COUPONS.  MONEY IS DUE FOR ALL CARDS CHECKED OUT TO THIS POINT AT THE BAND PARENT MEETING ON MAY 17TH. If you have already checked out 10 and returned your $ you will be allowed to check out 20 without payment upfront. Please remember that money not turned in on the coupons will result in the full value being charged to your student's account.

We are putting together a list of companies that can help us by providing funds if pride families use their services. For example, Protection 1 Security Solutions (through LaShona McWhirt) can donate $50 to your individual account if you switch or start new security service with them. If you are part of a company that offers this type of fundraising, please let us know. We are hoping to have a list of such opportunities for the next band parent meeting.
