Pride Leader Students to Perform Friday Morning
All Pride Leadership, Drum Line and available upperclassmen will perform a pep rally with the BA Cheer groups at the South WalMart on Friday morning. Wear your Pride / Tradition T Shirt and be ready to play by 7:30am. We will be finished by approximately 9:00am.

Union Football Game UNIFORM
All Pride will wear their complete Full Uniform for this week's game.
  FULL Pride Uniform Includes:

  • Members do not take their uniforms home. Parent volunteers maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the uniforms.
  • The ONLY T-shirt that may be worn underneath the uniform is the Black Member Pride / Tradition T shirt. Extras may be purchased for $10 each from the Uniform Parent Volunteers
  • BLACK "Sliders" must be worn under the uniform. These are athletic leggings and may be purchased at most any sporting good store.
  • Full Length ALL Black socks must be worn with the uniform
  • No jewelry while in uniform. This includes wrist bands, necklaces, piercings, etc. (a small stud ear ring is the only acceptable jewelry)
  • Gentlemen must have haircuts above the collar line and no facial hair
  • Ladies with long hair must be able to put their hair "up" in a "performance bun" inside their shako
  • Gloves (Horn Line only) These may be purchased for $5 per pair. Woodwinds must cut out the fingers on their gloves at the "first knuckle". Don't wait until the last minute to do this.
  • All members will need to shine / polish their instruments before each performance
  • Color Guard will wear their Practice Costume

School Transportation for School Activities
It is the policy of the school that all students travel to and from school activities via school provided transportation. Therefore, students may not ride to a school event with their parents and meet the band at the travel site. Nor, may students be released to parents to travel home in a personal vehicle instead of returning to BAHS on the provided school transportation. While this may not be the most convenient method of picking up your child from a school event, it does maintain consistency, safety and accountability for each band member on a school trip.

Tradition Rehearsal Another Success
Thanks to all the efforts of our students and staff that made Saturday's Tradition Rehearsal such a success. It's amazing to see the efforts to coordinate an entire Pre-Game Show with over 450 performers in just one Rehearsal!! The Pride and Tradition will have a dress rehearsal on each HOME GAME Friday at 6:00pm on the Track Turf Field in the back of the school.

Next Band Parent Meeting - Steptember 13
The next meeting of Broken Arrow Band Parents Association will be at 7:00pm on September 13 in the BAHS Band Hall.

Pride and Concert Band Instrument User Fees due September 9
All Pride members that play a school owned instrument must submit their $35 Instrument User Fee no later than this Friday. All User Fees not submitted by Friday will have that charge deducted from the member's Student Account.

Charms Rollover
Charms accounts will be rolled to the new season on Monday, August 29th. A final email will be sent with your statement before the rollover. If you have not done so, please add an email address to Charms as soon as possible or you will not receive your statement. In the past, all history items remained after the rollover. This year all history will be cleared in the update and a “rollover” balance will start the season. Once the rollover occurs, student accounts will be charged the full amount for the season. When you send payments to the finance office, please be sure your payment is marked for your student and where you wish the payment to be applied. Currently all payments are posted to the miscellaneous ledgers. If you would like part or all of the miscellaneous balance to be transferred to a trip account, please email Lisa Good at lsgood@baschools.org and specify the amount in the transfer request.

Please be sure your accounts are up to date with the payment schedule. Visit www.charmsoffice.com to view your student account. The log in is "brokenarrowband" and your initial password is your student's ID#. Payments can be made via PayPal through Charms (Charms charges a 3.5% service fee). Cash and Check payments can be made to the fine arts office daily, mailed to the school, or dropped into the payment box in the hallway near the orchestra room. If you have any questions, please email Lisa Good at lsgood@baschools.org.

PRESIDENTS
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Looking for a way to get involved? Sign up now...our October events (BAI, OBA, OSSAA) are coming up fast! We still need many volunteers to help us make these events spectacular! Please see the Special Events portion of enews for more information and instructions on how to sign up.

FAN BUS TO ST. LOUIS SUPER REGIONALS: Javon Sixsmith will be organizing a charter bus for family and friends of the Pride to St. Louis. PLEASE email again if you previously emailed but have not heard from Javon. There was a typo in the email address given out at the rookie meeting. This is not a school or band parent organization-sponsored event, so please direct all questions directly to Javon at pridefanbus@gmail.com or you can call or text 918-814-0100.

FUNCTIONS

First Game Reminders

  • NO EATING in uniform. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Please do not put snacks in shako boxes, in shoes or uniform bags. Once your student is in uniform they only are allowed water to drink - and we will make sure they have plenty. They will NOT starve, we will feed them well Friday night before they change into uniform.

  • PLEASE have your students try on their new shoes NOW and do not wait until they report for their first game in a couple of weeks. If a student has any issues with any part of their uniform have them report it to the uniform room before or after a rehearsal.

  • If your student needs gloves, an extra tradition shirt, or has any other issues with their uniform, have your STUDENT go to the uniform room (just inside the double doors, next to the band room), and tell the uniform moms what is needed. They are there every time the band is there for rehearsal. No cash is taken in the uniform room for gloves or extra shirts, these will be charged to your student’s account.

  • Only chaperones and staff are allowed in the band stand with the students at both home and away games! This is for the safety of the kids, and to help keep them focused on what they are there to do. Also, please arrive promptly after the game to pick up your student!!

  • You are responsible for tracking and submitting your own volunteer hours, except for large events, where you sign-in. If you are unsure as to whether or not your hours are tracked at a certain activity, ask the coordinator. CHARMS is used to not only check your students account balance, but is also where we track our volunteer hours. It is also important to update your family information in Charms. For directions on how to do both click HERE.
  • Special Diets/Medical Conditions. We will feed your kids for the first time Friday night, if you have a student that needs a special meal consideration it MUST be submitted on this form my Thursday this week.  If your student has special dietary considerations or medical conditions that you wish us to be aware of, please fill out the form at this Link.
