Dress Rehearsal Performance last Saturday
Thank you to all that supported the Pride at their Dress Rehearsal last Saturday. It was a great evening to see so many friends and family of the Pride and a special thank you to our Pride members for their outstanding performance! The staff is extremely proud of the talent and efforts of our members. The final weeks of this season are shaping up to be very special.

The payment amounts for Pride members to be allowed to travel on this trip are: $2100 for Horn Line, Percussion and Drum Majors (with a balance of $900 due for the remaining payments) & $2400 for Color Guard (with a balance of $900 due for the remaining payments). The Pride of Broken Arrow will perform in exhibition following the finals competition at 10:00pm. We hope to see you next Saturday!

The Pride will present a Uniform performance on Saturday evening at BA Memorial Stadium at the conclusion of our rehearsal.  The performance is scheduled to begin at 9:00pm

Next Band Parent Meeting - October 11
The next meeting of the Broken Arrow Band Parents Association will be at 7:00pm on October 11 in the BAHS Band Hall.

Section Gifts
As we approach our two big trips of the Pride season, I know many sections and their parents are already planning for special gifts for the member to help celebrate. We know that the Pride activity requires a significant commitment from members and their families. To help ensure that section gifts do not add to the financial burden, we ask that limit the cost of any section gifts for the entire season to $25 or less. (That limit can be over and above the cost of section shirts, if necessary). Concerning section shirts, we would like to remind all section leaders and their parents that all section shirts should be short-sleeved T's ONLY and all artwork must be approved by the directors in advance of any orders being placed.

Pride of Broken Arrow "Letter Policy":
To be eligible for a letter with the Pride of Broken Arrow, a student must complete the following criteria:

1) Be selected by directors to participate in the Pride; and
2) Compete in a contest with the Pride, either by participating on field or by traveling with the band as a shadow (a shadow being defined as a student who may travel to a competition as a substitute but may not take part in an on-field performance at each event).

In addition, Pride directors may, at their discretion, choose to award a letter to a student who is named to the Pride but is unable to participate in competitions because of various circumstances.

Students who meet these criteria will be provided a letter after the first competition in which they participate or after the directors award them a letter. Until such time, a Pride jacket may be worn without a letter.

FUNCTIONS
Reminder
: Any time the students are fed by the band, we ask that no additional outside food or special drinks be brought to the students. The students have plenty of food and drink. It’s not fair to all of the other band members if one student gets special treatment and they don’t. If there is a unique dietary need, we have asked for that information and will provide that for them. Thank you for your help with this policy.

Student Travel & Medications: Students with prescription medication must turn them in to Ms. Good in the band office prior to our St. Louis trip. Only provide the exact amount needed for the trip, in its original prescription container, with name and dosage information included.

Hospitality committee hosts a volunteer room for our large events (BAI and OBA) under the stadium. It is a great place to rest and grab a bite to eat while working these events. They will be at practices on Thursday evenings collecting donations for food for both of these days, feel free to drop by and see what they need!!

ATTENTION SENIORS!! We need ONE baby picture and FIVE other band related pictures of you for senior night. We prefer these electronically submitted to bafunctions@gmail.com. Please make sure your name is in the subject line. If you must do hard copies, place them in an envelope and leave in the band office marked “senior pictures for ______________.” All pictures must be submitted by 14 October.

Parents of JUNIORS & SOPHOMORES. There will be a meeting Saturday, October 8th at 7:00p.m. in the band room to discuss plans for hosting Senior Night.
