The Broken Arrow Invitational is THIS Week

Join us for the 11th annual Broken Arrow Marching Band Invitational at Tiger Field on October 7. Witness some of the nation’s finest marching band programs as bands representing Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and Missouri compete in the 2017 BAI. The Pride of Broken Arrow will perform in exhibition following the finals competition at 10:00pm. We hope to see you next Saturday!

Next Band Parent Meeting - October 10
The next meeting of the Broken Arrow Band Parents Association will be at 7:00pm on October 10 in the BAHS Band Hall.


Upcoming HS Wind Band Concert - October 16
The wind bands at BAHS will present their first band concert of the school year on Monday, October 16. This concert is free to the public at will be held at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center beginning at 7:00pm.


OBA Finals Reserved Tickets
Ticket Requests may be placed beginning Tuesday for OBA Finals Tickets. The BA Band will be able to secure a limited number of tickets in the "BA Section”. Tickets are $10 each and will assigned on a first come, first served basis. Tickets may also be purchased at the stadium on contest day, but can't be guaranteed to be placed in the "BA Section." Place ticket orders with Mrs. Good at the HS Band Office. Tickets will be delivered once we receive them from OBA (typically the week prior to the contest).

Band Finance Office - Charms
Charms accounts are ready for all Pride members. Login is "brokenarrowband" and your password is your student's ID# (unless you have already changed it). Payments can be made via PayPal through Charms, PayPal charges a small service fee. Cash and Check payments can be made to the Fine Arts Finance Office during regular business hours, mailed to the school, or dropped into the payment box in the hallway near the orchestra room. Please BE SURE to note where you want your payment applied. Please take the time to update your personal information where it is lacking. This will keep us in touch with you. For more information on using Charms, see the attached sheet.

FUNCTIONS

Alterations. The students have been sized again and alterations are needed on uniforms. The ladies will be working every night the kids rehearse this week, please come help rip, pin and sew whenever you can.

Senior pictures will be accepted through Wednesday, October 4. Please email them to bafunctions@gmail.com.

Junior and Sophomore parents, watch the band parent Facebook page for a signup link for senior night. If you would just like to donate money for decorations or food, you can give that to Kris Dixon, Stephanie Brown, or either of the Turners.

SPECIAL EVENTS

BAI - Saturday, Oct. 7th - Thank you, to all who all who have have signed up to work BAI. We are putting together the final work schedule and other information, and will email this information sometime this week. Make sure you print any the information you will need (maps, schedule etc.) or save to your phone.

Volunteer shirts will be available for purchase on Thursday, Oct. 5th before we open the gates for open rehearsal. You can also purchase one the day of the event at the Pride Store table. $10.00 each.

OBA - Saturday, Oct., 28th - We still need volunteers for this event. This is an all day event so, we have multiple shifts available to work. We really need everyone to find away to help with at least one shift. Please use the link below to sign up. One form per person.

CONCESSIONS

Thursday October 5th we will be stocking concessions in preparation for BAI on Saturday. We will start stocking at 5:30. No need to sign up.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered for this past Friday’s game. We still need many volunteers for the next 2 home football games. The last two games will be very busy with homecoming and senior night we need to fully staff concessions to make it a success!

October 13th is homecoming, we need 30 more volunteers

October 19th is Senior night we need 30 more volunteers to sign up. If you are a senior parent please enjoy watching your child on senior night. Parents of freshman, sophomore, and juniors let's show our support to the senior parents and fill their spots in concessions so they can enjoy their child's last performance at a high school football game!!

Volunteer Grants: Did you know that some companies pay volunteer grants for their employees who volunteer hours for organizations. Is your company one of those? Do you work for Walmart, DirecTV, IBM or State Farm? Those are 4 companies of the many who offer volunteer grants. Check with your HR department! This is a great opportunity that allows your hard work to benefit BA Bands! Most of these grants are around $500. Turn your volunteer hours into money!

CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL FOR BA BANDS E-MAILS! Please check your Spam or Junk mail folder for emails from any BA Bands email addresses. These include but are not limited to: BAConcessions@gmail.com; bapridework@hotmail.com; BABandFundraising@gmail.com;; BASpecialEvents@gmail.com; and BAStadiumCleanup@gmail.com.

If you see any of these emails in your Junk or Spam folder, add the email address for those emails to your contact list. That should ensure you receive future emails correctly. If you wish to be removed from any of these mailing lists, send a message to the appropriate address and ask to be removed.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! OCTOBER DINE OUT NIGHT - PANDA EXPRESS ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24 at 1314 E. Hillside Dr from 3-10PM. 20% of sales will go to band program. Participants must present a flyer (paper or on phone) on the day of our fundraiser to get credit for the band. To print the flyer, CLICK HERE.


BEEF JERKY STICKS - Jerky sticks are available by pre-order and pre-purchase through the band only; the turnaround time to get them is quick - usually about a week once we place an order (orders will be placed at the beginning of each month; the next order will be placed after the October band parent meeting). We can also email you an order form if you need one or CLICK HERE to print one. Please contact Debbie at BABandFundraising@gmail.com with questions. This is the ONLY fundraiser we offer that you will pay ONLY the cost upfront, not the profit as well, due to the cost of the sticks. You will still be responsible for turning the profit into the band office for this fundraiser.


CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - We are out of the $1 variety box of bars. We have everything else available still for purchase ($1 caramel bars, $2 caramel whirls, $2 almonds, $2 variety box).. Currently, the next opportunity to purchase will be at the October band parent meeting. We apologize for not being able to offer chocolate as scheduled this past Saturday. We will offer the chocolate this Thursday October 5 from 7-8PM before open rehearsal at the stadium gates.. CLICK HERE for the chocolate fundraiser guidelines.


NEW FUNDRAISER COMING IN OCTOBER!!! CHEESECAKES !!!! Arriving just in time for the fall season of festivities! This fundraiser will begin at the parent meeting on October 10.


IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING FUNDRAISERS!!! - You MUST include your contact information (email address and phone number) on ALL fundraiser order forms before turning them in (even if the form doesn't ask for that info). Also, you need to let us know if you are fundraising for Pride or for Europe; if it is not specified, we will put the funds towards Pride.

Earn Money For Your Band Trip Account - For up-to-date information on work opportunities, CLICK HERE to sign up to receive Pride Work emails. All signs-ups are on a first come basis and everyone on the email list receives the opportunities at the same time. ***If you are having trouble getting spots, one way to make sure you can make the email a priority is to set up your phone or device with a special tone so that you know when the emails from bapridework arrive. You can also set up a special folder on your desktop or device to see more easily when the emails arrive.***

BAI PRIDE STORE: The Pride Store will be open underneath the stadium at BAI on October 7. We will be selling BAI T-shirts, patches and pins. Shirts are $15-$18, Patches are $6, and Pins are $4. Shirt and Patch Combo package is $20.(For Rookie parents, the kids like to have the BAI patch for their Pride Jackets!) We will be selling most all of our usual Pride Store items as well. Stop by and see us!

PURCHASE VOLUNTEER SHIRTS FOR BAI AND OTHER EVENTS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 5 FROM 7-8PM: If you are in need of a black Pride Volunteer shirt for BAI or other events, we will sell them from 7:00-8:00PM on Thursday, October 5 before open rehearsal. We will be selling outside the visitor gates. They are $10. Cash or check made payable to BA Bands only. We will also have the volunteer shirts available at the Pride Store booth at BAI, but we encourage you to purchase the shirt on October 5 before BAI.

PRIDE JACKET PICKUP AT PRIDE STORE ON OCTOBER 10: Jason from Yvonne's will be at the October 10 parent meeting from 6-6:45PM with Pride jackets that have been ordered, but not picked up. Thank you to Jason for making it easier on us parents! Please plan to pick up your jacket before the parent meeting that night if you ordered one and have not picked up.


NEW! BLING FULL ZIP JACKETS PRE-ORDER FORMS NOW DUE IN ORDER TO RECEIVE BEFORE ST. LOUIS - These forms were due Sept 30, but we’ve extended it to Tuesday, October 3. These will be ordered October 4, so please get them in on the 3rd. Forms can be printed out and turned into the band office or the slot by the orchestra room! Cash or checks made to BA Bands only. PRIDE JACKETS - Pride jackets may be ordered directly at Yvonne's Monograms & Embroidery! The Pride Store does not take these orders. You can stop by (with your student) any time to get a fitting and order your Pride Jacket! Remember this is the only jacket that may be worn with the Pride uniform.

*Pride Jackets are $235.27 and require a $50 deposit when ordering. Balance is due when jacket is picked up.

These pictures can now be purchased online only. We will no longer have the photos at the Pride Store. Ordering online is easy and you can see ALL of the photos you wish to see.
