-Directors Notes-

The Broken Arrow Invitational another huge success

The volunteer efforts of our parents and students are truly what made this event so successful. The overwhelming feedback that we have received from the competing band directors has shown their excitement for how professional the event is run and how kind and friendly our parent and student volunteers are to our visitors. That is FANTASTIC! Thank you to all that were involved in producing this first class event.

Band of America Super Regional NEXT WEEK!
This is an exciting time in the Pride’s preparations! The St Louis Super Regional Championship will be here next week! I know that the Pride members have been looking forward to this week for a long time to perform in one of the nation's most premier acoustical environments for a dome stadium. It is always amazing to see the number of BA parents, alumni and fans that will make their way to the Dome at America’s Center to see and hear some of the finest bands in the nation. There will be MANY bands from our area and state competing at the BOA Super Regional and I know that all Broken Arrow supporters will show their generosity and enthusiasm toward our band friends from Oklahoma!

MARKETING & DEVELOPMENT
Carrie Crane -- development.bapride@gmail.com

Volunteer Grants: Did you know that some companies pay volunteer grants for their employees who volunteer hours for organizations. Is your company one of those? Do you work for Walmart, DirecTV, IBM or State Farm? Those are 4 companies of the many who offer volunteer grants. Check with your HR department! This is a great opportunity that allows your hard work to benefit BA Bands! Most of these grants are around $500. Turn your volunteer hours into money!

If you have a contact at a company that might be interested in sponsoring the Pride, let us know ! We have several levels of sponsorship, we have general sponsorships and special event sponsors.  Email: development.bapride@gmail.com for more information

If you see any of these emails in your Junk or Spam folder, add the email address for those emails to your contact list. That should ensure you receive future emails correctly. MARK YOUR CALENDARS! OCTOBER DINE OUT NIGHT - PANDA EXPRESS ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24 at 1314 E. Hillside Dr from 3-10PM. 20% of sales will go to band program. Participants must present a flyer (paper or on phone) on the day of our fundraiser to get credit for the band. To print the flyer, CLICK HERE.

BEEF JERKY STICKS - Jerky sticks are available by pre-order and pre-purchase through the band only; the turnaround time to get them is quick - usually about a week once we place an order (orders will be placed at the beginning of each month; the next order will be placed after the October band parent meeting). We can also email you an order form if you need one or CLICK HERE to print one. Please contact Debbie at BABandFundraising@gmail.com with questions. This is the ONLY fundraiser we offer that you will pay ONLY the cost upfront, not the profit as well, due to the cost of the sticks. You will still be responsible for turning the profit into the band office for this fundraiser.

CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - The only chocolate we have available currently are the chocolate covered almonds and the caramel whirls. We will have those for sale at the October band parent meeting on Tuesday night. More chocolate is in the process of being ordered, but it will be approximately two weeks before we get more. Also, important to remember - if you turn in money from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets posted to Charms that way; you will have already paid the profit upfront. CLICK HERE for the chocolate fundraiser guidelines.

NEW FUNDRAISER - CHEESECAKES !!!! Arriving just tin time for the fall season of festivities!  Have your customers order enough to last through Thanksgiving and Christmas.  This fundraiser will begin at the parent meeting on October 10.

IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING FUNDRAISERS!!! - You MUST include your contact information (email address and phone number) on ALL fundraiser order forms before turning them in (even if the form doesn't ask for that info).

For more information on ANY of the fundraisers listed above, please contact Debbie Gowriluk at BABandFundraising@gmail.com.

Earn Money For Your Band Trip Account - For up-to-date information on work opportunities, CLICK HERE to sign up to receive Pride Work emails. All signs-ups are on a first come basis and everyone on the email list receives the opportunities at the same time. ***If you are having trouble getting spots, one way to make sure you can make the email a priority is to set up your phone or device with a special tone so that you know when the emails from bapridework arrive. You can also set up a special folder on your desktop or device to see more easily when the emails arrive.***

Also, you can work stadium cleanup!  $7.50 per hour.  Contact bastadiumcleanup@gmail.com or email them to get on the sign up list for notification of opportunities

IMPORTANT!!! IF YOU SIGN UP TO DO PRIDE WORK OR STADIUM CLEAN UP, YOU MUST DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO BE THERE! We have had way too many cancelling after committing to work!! This makes it difficult to cover shifts, puts pressure on those who do so show up, and it reduces the money we raise if no one shows up in certain spots. We will begin to limit opportunities for those who don't show up! We recommend that you only sign up if you know you can fulfill the commitment. If you can't fulfill, we recommend you line up someone to fill your spot and let our Pride Work and Stadium Cleanup leaders know ASAP. Thank you!

* Food Handlers Permit - If you plan to handle food at any of these events, you will need a Volunteer Food Handler’s Permit. You can acquire the permit online and it only takes a few minutes to complete. CLICK HERE to take the course and print your permit online.
