High School Band concert on Tuesday, May 22
Don’t miss the final HS Band Concert of the year on Tuesday (5/22). This will be a great concert to celebrate an end to a great school year. Also, the HS Wind Ensemble will present a concert featuring Multi-media Concert Experience of “A Night at the Movies.” Be sure to be at this concert for some special surprises! Symphonic Band 1 and Wind Ensemble will check in their concert attire at the PAC after the concert has ended.




Pride Summer Conditioning
We are very excited to partner with the athletic department this summer to offer our students access to the many resources at BA. Cody Ellett, the Director of Strength and Conditioning at BA is developing a summer workout specifically for the Pride! The workouts will assist our students with cardiovascular fitness, upper body strength, as well as core strength and balance. The Pride workouts will be in the Indoor facility each Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:00pm beginning on June 5th. All hornline and battery are expected to attend. These conditioning sessions are FREE of charge.

Pride Account Payments / Charms / Group Fundraising / Payment Schedule
Until notified in an upcoming eNews, all payments to 2018 Pride New-Member Student Accounts must be made directly to the BAHS Band Office (Credit Card, Cass or Check) OR by mailing to BAHS. New Pride Member Charms accounts are still under construction to be set up for each member. We will make an eNews notification once the Charms accounts are set up for the 2018 Pride season. The first payment of $200 is due. The June payment is $400. Band Summer Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00-4:00pm. NOTE: The additional Color Guard fee is expected to be $150, subject to final budgeting changes.

Attendance Communication - Attendance@BrokenArrowPride.com
All members must communicate all Pride absences by emailing attendance@BrokenArrowPride.com Please remember that ALL rehearsal and performances are mandatory beginning July 23. All mini camp and rehearsal sessions prior to July 23 will allow absences based on vacation or attendance to a ‘camp’ (music camp, church camp, etc), however, ALL absences must be communicated in advance. NOTE: The Color Guard Dance Project and Performances are posted.


Pride Physicals Due by July 20
All Pride members must have a new physical on file for the 2018 season. You may choose the physician of your choice BUT MUST SUBMIT THE ATTACHED 2 PAGE OSSAA FORM. The BA Bands intend to host a physical session with one of our sponsors onsite at BAHS in the month of June or July; however, ALL physical forms must be submitted to the Mrs. Good in the band office no later than July 20.


Online Participation Forms - Rank One
The Pride uses an online system to submit all required school district forms (ie. medical release, participation form, member contract, media release, etc). These forms will be available for access in the coming weeks and need to be completed by July 23. Once the 2018 forms are online and ready for your access, we will publicize the access info in an upcoming eNews.


Next Band Parent Meeting August 14
Our next band parent meeting will be on Tuesday, August 14 in the High School Band Hall at 7:00pm.



Jazz Ensemble Auditions
Auditions will be at BAHS on Monday, May 21 3:30-5:00. 


Concert Band Instrument Check Out
The date for issuing Concert Band Instruments for the summer is TBA.  Once wind band audition results are posted, we will then be able to confirm the date that instruments will be available to check out for the summer.

Drums of Summer - DCI Tour of Champions Show in Broken Arrow
The 2018 DCI Show hosted in Broken Arrow will be on Tuesday, July 17 at BA's Memorial Stadium. This year’s event features many of DCI’s top groups in the WORLD: Blue Devils, Blue Knights, Bluecoats, Boston Crusaders The Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment and Santa Clara Vanguard. WOW!! What an amazing line up. Tickets are on sale now at DCI.org. There are also many opportunities to volunteer. Contact VP of Special Events at BASpecialEvents@gmail.com for more info…. Tickets are selling fast and most of the chairback seats have already sold, get your tickets today! (All 2018 Pride members receive G.A. through the pass gate with your student ID)

- All Pride accounts should be paid to zero. Credit card payments can now be made in the band office with Mrs. Good. Credit cards can be used for student accounts, Pride Store purchases, and other fees. As always, credit payments may be made through Charms and will automatically post to your students Charms ledgers. Payments can also be mailed to BA Bands, BAHS, 1901 E. Albany, Broken Arrow, OK, 74012.

ATTENTION FIRST YEAR PARENTS: There will be a Rookie Parent Meeting on Thursday, May 31st, at 6:00 pm. Location will be at the high school, but the room has not yet been determined. It will be a casual, low key atmosphere and a great opportunity to learn what to expect throughout the season. Get your questions ready and come join us!

FUNCTIONS

New!  Sign-up for volunteers for the 2018-19 school year for Feeding Frenzy, Uniforms (washing and sewing), Hospitality, Popsicles, and Medical help is now underway.  Sign-up through THIS LINK to get notifications.

Help is need for the High School Band Concert on Tuesday, May 22. Cookies and punch supplies as well as help serving are needed. Please select this link: HERE to sign up to help.

Also, immediately following the concert help is needed to collect concert wear and launder them. We will meet in the front of the auditorium.

Need a car wash? Each time the code 1219 is entered, the BA Bands program gets 20% of the sale at Legends Car Wash at Kenosha and Aspen (2300 W. Kenosha). NOTE TO MEMBERS ABOUT THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNT FUNDRAISERS - Individual account fundraisers such as the ones below are offered year round for all Pride members (color guard and hornline), whether new or old.  The profits from each individual account fundraiser goes directly to the Pride member who did the fundraiser.  Go ahead and start fundraising!


DISCOUNT CARDS - To pick up discount cards outside of scheduled fundraiser pickup dates/times, please contact Debbie Gowriluk at BABandFundraising@gmail.com. This is the ONLY fundraiser we offer that you do not pay for upfront. You can check out up to 5 cards at one time. Once those cards are sold, you can check out more cards at the same time you turn in the money for the sold cards to Debbie. IMPORTANT INFO: If you checked out cards and need more, you need to turn the money in to Debbie to get more cards; if you turn the money in to Mrs. Good, there WILL be a delay in getting more cards because she will need to let me know that the money has been received and recorded before I can check out additional cards to you.


CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - The next opportunity to purchase chocolate will be Thursday, May 31 from 5-7pm in the band hallway. Note: Chocolate is ONLY sold during scheduled fundraiser pickup dates/times and band parent meetings, so please plan to be there during this time if you are wanting to purchase chocolate to sell (a future date has not been set yet). Cash/checks for payment only please. Important to remember - if you turn in money from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets posted to Charms that way; you will have already paid the profit upfront. MIXED BAG DESIGNS - This is our newest fundraiser and it starts after the band parent meeting on Monday. This fundraiser also includes the opportunity for online sales; that means family members and friends from other cities and states can support your Pride member and get some great items in the process! The catalog for this fundraiser is BIG! Lots of items to choose from... bags, organization items, kitchen items, outdoor living items… something for everyone!  Packets are available in the reception area of the fine arts/band office at the high school under the table.  Order forms and money are due by the end of the day on Wednesday, May 30. 


::::::: PLEASE READ ::::::: - You MUST include your contact information (email address and phone number) on ALL fundraiser order forms before turning them in (even if the form doesn't ask for that info). Also, if you are not receiving our fundraising emails already and you participate in fundraising at all, you need to be added to that email list because that is the best way to receive current news about fundraisers; please ask to be added to that email list if you are not already on it.
