Congratulations to the 2018 Drum Majors for the Pride of Broken Arrow:  Madelyn Holiman, Peyton Lee, Alexis Loveless, Kamden Minor, and Fernanda Sanchez!


Pride Summer Conditioning
We are very excited to partner with the athletic department this summer to offer our students access to the many resources at BA. Cody Ellett, the Director of Strength and Conditioning at BA is developing a summer workout specifically for the Pride! The workouts will assist our students with cardiovascular fitness, upper body strength, as well as core strength and balance. The Pride workouts will be in the Indoor facility each Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:00pm beginning on June 5th. All hornline and battery are expected to attend. These conditioning sessions are FREE of charge.

Drums of Summer - DCI Tour of Champions Show in Broken Arrow
The 2018 DCI Show hosted in Broken Arrow will be on Tuesday, July 17 at BA's Memorial Stadium. This year’s event features many of DCI’s top groups in the WORLD: Blue Devils, Blue Knights, Bluecoats, Boston Crusaders The Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment and Santa Clara Vanguard. WOW!! What an amazing line up. Tickets are on sale now at DCI.org. There are also many opportunities to volunteer. Contact VP of Special Events at BASpecialEvents@gmail.com for more info…. Tickets are selling fast and most of the chairback seats have already sold, get your tickets today! (All 2018 Pride members receive G.A. through the pass gate with your student ID)

PRESIDENTS
ATTENTION FIRST YEAR PARENTS: There will be a Rookie Parent Meeting on Thursday, May 31st, at 6:00 pm. Location will be at the high school, but the room has not yet been determined. It will be a casual, low key atmosphere and a great opportunity to learn what to expect throughout the season. Get your questions ready and come join us!

FUNCTIONS
New!  Sign-up for volunteers for the 2018-19 school year for Feeding Frenzy, Uniforms (washing and sewing), Hospitality, Popsicles, and Medical help is now underway.  Sign-up through THIS LINK to get notifications.

2018 DCI Tour of Champions - Broken Arrow will host the 2018 DCI Tour of Champions on Tuesday, July 17th at the Broken Arrow Memorial Stadium. We have several jobs available and would love to have you join us! To volunteer for this event, click on the following link , CLICK HERE

OPERATIONS
Appreciate the great turnout at the volunteer fair, and all the parents that signed up! We have a couple projects in the works: cleaning out the Pride Force 1 trailer, assembling new music stands, and some maintenance on supplies under the stadium.

Those that supplied phone numbers will be added to our GroupMe text group with dates and times of future projects in the coming weeks. Looking forward to our first get together of the summer season!

At the car show, we have many opportunities for parents, family members, and Pride members to help. It will be fun!!! We have Kid's Zone, Concession assistance, runners for judging, signs, and more! (These summer volunteer hours for students can be used for the 2018-19 NHS hours. Students can have up to 10 NHS hours from summer activities).

LEGENDS CAR WASH FUNDRAISER - CODE 1219 IS GOOD YEAR ROUND!
Need a car wash? Each time the code 1219 is entered, the BA Bands program gets 20% of the sale at Legends Car Wash at Kenosha and Aspen (2300 W. Kenosha). This link has a bar code and the code number. CLICK HERE for the link. Download the graphic to your phone so you can show the barcode or give them the code each time you have your car washed at Legends! Thanks to Legends Car Wash for their support of the Pride!


NOTE TO MEMBERS ABOUT THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNT FUNDRAISERS - Individual account fundraisers such as the ones below are offered year round for all Pride members (color guard and hornline), whether new or old.  The profits from each individual account fundraiser goes directly to the Pride member who did the fundraiser.  Go ahead and start fundraising!


DISCOUNT CARDS - Discount cards will be available Thursday, May 31 from 5-7pm in the band hallway.  To pick up discount cards outside of scheduled fundraiser pickup dates/times, please contact Debbie Gowriluk at BABandFundraising@gmail.com. This is the ONLY fundraiser we offer that you do not pay for upfront. You can check out up to 5 cards the first time. Once those cards are sold, you can check out more cards at the same time you turn in the money for the sold cards to Debbie. IMPORTANT INFO: If you checked out cards and need more, you need to turn the money in to Debbie to get more cards; if you turn the money in to Mrs. Good, there WILL be a delay in getting more cards because she will need to let me know that the money has been received and recorded before I can check out additional cards to you.


CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - The next opportunity to purchase chocolate will be Thursday, May 31 from 5-7pm in the band hallway. Note: Chocolate is ONLY sold during scheduled fundraiser pickup dates/times and band parent meetings, so please plan to be there during this time if you are wanting to purchase chocolate to sell (a future date has not been set yet). Cash/checks for payment only please. Important to remember - if you turn in money from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets posted to Charms that way; you will have already paid the profit upfront. MIXED BAG DESIGNS - Packets are available in the reception area of the fine arts/band office at the high school under the table.  Order forms and money are due by the end of the day on Wednesday, May 30.  They can be turned in to Mrs. Good in the band office directly or left in the payment locker outside the orchestra room.

::::::: PLEASE READ ::::::: - You MUST include your contact information (email address and phone number) on ALL fundraiser order forms before turning them in (even if the form doesn't ask for that info). Also, if you are not receiving our fundraising emails already and you participate in fundraising at all, you need to be added to that email list because that is the best way to receive current news about fundraisers; please ask to be added to that email list if you are not already on it.


Earn Money For Your Band Trip Account - There are so many ways to earn money for your band trip account! Start earning money now for the 2018 marching season.

Many of these opportunities go quickly. The work sign-ups are sent via email to those on the Pride Work email list. Please ask to get on the Pride Work email list by writing to bapridework@gmail.com.

PRE-ORDERS and FORMS: We offer a variety of shirts, luggage tags, dog tags, decals, show buttons, ornaments, street signs and more. This season we also are offering NEW Pride of BA Sporty Shorts and Pride of BA Show Candles.
We will have these forms anytime we open the Pride Store. You may also print these forms from the band website. CLICK HERE for all order forms.


DUE NEXT WEEK!!!! PRE-ORDERS THAT ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, JUNE 1 include the new sporty shorts, duffle bags, and backpacks. The order form says they are due at June parent meeting, but that is my mistake.....there is NO June parent meeting. These are due no later than June 1!!! We want to get these items to the kids well before Pride Camp begins in July! If you can't make it to the Pride Store, you can turn them into Lisa Good in the band office next week, in the cubby next to the orchestra room, or have your band member drop them off at the Pride Store those days. Remember they must include cash or check when turned in.
