-Directors Notes-

Note about Weather and This week's events:
The forecast isn’t looking favorable for positive performance opportunities for some of the Pride events scheduled this week. As always, until a public announcement has been made from the band office, ALL events are ‘as scheduled’. That being said, should the weather prohibit our Pride Community Performance on Tuesday night, we will do everything possible to reschedule. Possible dates for a rescheduled Community Performance could be on Thursday, November 7 OR Tuesday, November 12 OR not at all. We will make the best decisions for our students and the community and share any new info as it comes available.

Likewise, the OSSAA Marching Contest could have unfavorable weather conditions on Wednesday. The OSSAA office is monitoring the weather conditions for the entire state to participate in this week’s OSSAA Marching Contests. We will share any updated information once it is made available to us.

The good news is that the weather for the Friday Home Game (Senior Night) and for Saturday at OBA look good (though cool). Thank you for your understanding as we negotiate the always unpredictable weather in Oklahoma.

Pride Send Off Dress Rehearsal / Community Performance
The Pride Send Off Dress Rehearsal / Community Performance will be on Tuesday, October 29. This will be an excellent opportunity to see the Pride’s show “YEE HAW“ before the 2019 season comes to a conclusion. The Pride will, once again, sponsor this event as a benefit to BA Neighbors. Admission fee for the event is a canned food or non-perishable food item. This is an excellent opportunity to give back to our Broken Arrow community. The gates to the Grand Stand seating will open at 7:30pm and the program will begin at approximately 7:45pm.

Sounds of the Stadium - Pride PAC Concert
Join us in for a truly unique experience — Sounds of the Stadium on Nov. 5 at 7:00pm! This concert will feature the full Pride of Broken Arrow performing all your favorites that they perform at football games, only this time in the confines of the The Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center! It’s going to be loud and it’s going to be a blast!

2 Competitions THIS Week
The Broken Arrow Pride will participate in 2 competitions next week. The OSSAA Regional Marching Contest will be hosted on Wednesday at NSU’s Stadium in Tahlequah and will feature bands in class 5A & 6A. Broken Arrow performs last at 2:30pm and admission is free to this event. The OBA Marching Championship will be hosted at Owasso HS on Saturday, November 2. Broken Arrow performs at 1:45pm.

All District and All State Auditions November 9 at BAHS
10th - 12th Grade Students that are auditioning for these Honor Bands will audition at BAHS on Saturday, November 9. Detailed itineraries will be distributed to students in their band classes.

PRESIDENTS

As we wind down a great marching season, we begin to look ahead towards indoor percussion season and concert band performances. There will continue to be many ways to contribute as a volunteer, including uniform help, chaperoning trips, and working our BA-Sponsored indoor percussion event. We encourage you to forge ahead with sponsorship and fundraising efforts. These activities are offered year-round. Every dollar raised decreases individual costs and paves the way for many wonderful opportunities for our students.

For all those that have volunteered thanks for everything you do. You are all appreciated.
